Seachem Tidal Power Filter 75

I bought this for my 200 litre tank as I only had a fluval u4 filter in there and didn't feel it was enough on it's own. I chose this seachem filter as I had read good things about it and it sounded simple to use which is a must for me. This is a hang on the back filter. You need to ensure you have at least 3.5 inches of gap behind your tank to allow room for the filter to fit comfortably. Also I have removed the back panel from my tank lid as this filter sits a few inches above the top of the tank. I purchased a bag of seachem purigen and stuck that in also. This filter comes with a built in skimmer which you can turn on or off by simply closing it off with a blue dial located at the bottom of the filter under the water line. There is a flow dial located at the top of the filter which you can turn up or down according to how much filtration you want. I tend to just run it at full whack most of the time. You need to make sure the tank is pretty full of water if you are going to have the skimmer on because if the water level drops even slightly below minimum it starts making a spluttering noise, so regular top ups are needed. If the filter becomes clogged with plant material or other debris, the little blue tube on the top pops up as an indicator that you need to do some maintenance. You can just lift out the media basket and rinse all your media in some tank water and also make sure the intake slots are clear of debris. The motor itself is very quiet. The only noisy thing is the sound of running water as the water flows through the filter and hits the surface. It creates a lot of surface movement and adds good oxygen supply to the water. This is a powerful, simple to use filter and I am very happy I bought it.

This thing is amazingly perfect compared to my Topfin hangonback filters. Plugged it in and worked perfect immediately. I specifically have the 110 and it PUSHES water. It’s extremely quiet and clean looking also. I couldn’t be happier with this filter. If you want it, get it.

This HOB is the bomb. Great flow, great filtration, large tank for media. I bought this so I would have a skimmer filter in addition to my Fluval 407 canister filter. I’ve had it for 2 months and had no problems. Always starts back up when it’s turned off for tank maintenance. Very happy with product.

Great Hang On Back filter

I have done quite some research on hang on back filters, I have found that some of the features that the Seachem Tidol filters have are great addition to filtering your aquarium. I will be purchasing the Seachem Tidol 75 model for one of my other aquariums. Great filter.

Seachem Tidal 55 Hang on Filter -1000lph

Has a big compartment for media filter and bio. I have guppies, mollies and platies, I like how you can turn the water intake down so there isn't as much flow for small fish. It is very quiet because the pump is under water. Cannot hear it at all

Lots of power/ flow, impressive media chamber as it's nice and large. The heater holders on the Tidals should be improved and I hope Seachem do this, as they don't hold the heaters as well as they need too.

Seachem tidal 75 worsts filter ever made

Filter is okay for big fish not for guppy’s filter after 3 there’s a noise in the skimmer took it apart clean the filter good put it back together perfectly but the noise is still there call Seachem about the problem they send me steps to do follow all steps but not thing will not recommend this filter I will stay with my aqua clear or Marineland filter but Marineland customer service sucks I’ll stay with aqua clear good product

The 35 gallon variant is missing integral pieces.

I just cant understand why they dont make the 35 gallon variant in the same fashion as the other sizes of the same model. If they did i wouldnt have any issues with it so its a real shame. However it doesnt even come with an intake tube, leaving it to only suck water through an impeller with a poorly crafted plastic cage around it which has large enough slots that if you have shrimp theyre surely going to get sucked in. And there is no way to cover this impeller because of the way it is crafted. But that shouldnt even be an issue as it should just come with, as aforementioned, an intake tube like every other model does. Really wish I didnt have to send this back.
