Delivery from China takes about 8 days to receive the product. the package is tight. the drive moved up a little while shipping is very cheap. if not serious, the insurance is worth the drive. never used, but the warranty of the Seagate has expired. but the store's insurance has been checked. there is a Reallocated sector count of 4. may be in transit. the drive works normally. actual capacity 3.79GB. the drive is different from the new model. The Seagate is slightly higher than the drive temp. The new model is about 6 degrees.

Finally got a chance to install this. A bit noisy. It constantly generates this low humming noise. I can notice it right away after I initialized it. My PC was very very quiet.During 2 random read test, it also makes a light grinding noise. I believe this is due to high speed disk rotation. Hope this is by design. Or it is wearing out the disk. I purchased it at 200 bucks during black friday.I was never a fan of Seagate. Someone in WD has this brilliant idea to implement PWL to tick every 5 seconds which forced me to move to other brands. My WD 2TB lasted 8 yrs and still in good condition. Hope this thing lasts.

Had to think hard about ordering two more of these dirves after my last experience with Seagate IronWolf Pro drives. After receiving my last order of 6 of these drives, two of them would not even spin up. I attempted to work with Seagate support to get them replaced and this ended up being useless. I sent them sound recordings of the drives trying to start up and still after two weeks of emails back and forth, I gave up and simply used the standard Seagate RMA process to get them replaced. I ended up paying for the shipping back to Seagate. Seagate support was very dissapointing to say the least.

IronWolf Pro Seagate 3.5 HDs are Ourstanding

I've tried mainstream regular and NAS drives from Toshiba, Western Digital, Hitachi, IBM and Seagate over the past 30+ years, but either because of reliability, especially reliability, tech support, or price keep coming back to Seagate.Seagate has consistently had great tech support and been easy to deal with and this IronWolf PRO series, not the plain IronWolf non-pro series, are by far, the best conventional hard drives I've ever encountered.I have about 25 of them mostly 8TB, 16TB and 20TB which I've purchased over the past few years. All are still going strong and many run 7x24. All have been excellent values and I've never had a problem with any of them. They have a 5 year P&L warranty but only if purchased from an authorized Seagate source. They usually have no warranty if they are purchased from an OEM, an Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM's are usually mainstream manufacturers who buy pallets of hard drives which they use in their products. When models change, OEMs might keep some for of those drives for service, but usually their remaining inventory is sold to the grey market, a mixture of smaller computer dealers and liquidators. Even if the drives your buy from such sources are sealed and are brand new, because they were originally sold to an OEM, Seagate won't honor the drive's warranty and you are on your own to get it serviced or replaced. You can find out a Seagate's drive warranty by entering its serial number on the support section of the Seagate website. I always check the serial numbers there before putting a drive in service.I've never had an issue with HDs I've sourced through B&H or for that matter any issue I've had with B&H with anything I've bought from them in the past 40+years. They are the best store I've ever encountered.

PRO Drives are VERY Quiet - Similar in sound from SSD
13 November 2023

I opted for SSD drives initially due to their quiet operation. However, my experience was marred when one of the SSDs failed within the first 30 days. Frustrated, I returned them and reluctantly contemplated enduring the noise associated with mechanical HDDs. Upon researching, I discovered IronWolf Pro drives and was impressed by their high recommendations, especially considering the 5-year warranty compared to the 3-year warranty on the non-Pro versions, which are slightly slower but still quite good. After installing the IronWolf Pro drives in my NAS, I was pleasantly surprised by their nearly silent operation. Quick, but Crunchy
2 January 2024

Wife: What's that sound?Me: The new HDDs.Wife: No, it sounds like someone is playing the drums.Me: Yep - the HDDs.I use these in my PC case as mass storage for projects, and yes, they are crunchy. It was irritating at first, but I've become accustomed to the new noise. Because my workstation is in our bedroom, it is pretty irritating to run uploads from the drives overnight. I LOVE the speeds vs the old drive I was using. I'm able to edit 4k video from these drives without much issue.

So far, so good!
13 August 2023

I haven't had these for a long period. I installed 8 of them into a Synology DS1821+ NAS and although the specific firmware and model weren't in the Synology compatibility list, they work just fine. The DS1821+ is an 8-bay NAS, and I wanted something larger than what I had so I was looking at 10~20TB drives. I simply did the match and the 18TB drive met the sweet spot for price / TB. All 8 drives came up and are working just fine and at speeds I would expect, so well within my acceptance range.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these to anyone... and coming from B&H, I know they're not going to be some random, used off-the-back-of-the-truck leftovers with no warranty. So I felt safe in ordering them from B&H along with a Synology DS1821+ for important backup storage.

[Rewarded Review] Great product, terrible shipping
30 April 2023

The product itself so far seems to be okay and is working fine. It does have a bit of a knocking noise at certain times but if you read a manufacturers (Seagate, WD, etc.) site this is common in larger drives. Short tests showed no flaws or errors but I have yet to have a chance to run an extended test. So far so good but I will always have a concern while this drive is in use... why?Whoever was responsible for shipping this drive needs a lesson on what is acceptable. The drive came in a box that could have fit another half dozen drives in it. There was a small packed air bag in there and that was it. Obviously that thing rattled around like a ball in a spray paint can. I highly doubt I will buy any more HDDs from Best Buy any time soon. I understand Amazon people ... MoreThe product itself so far seems to be okay and is working fine. I understand Amazon people shipping them out without a care, but come on, this is Best Buy... tech employees know better than that, or should. If I was not in a pinch I would have not even opened it and just sent it back, but I needed it so I stuck with it. I do not think I will take that chance again. Other items from Best Buy, sure, just not HDDs...

great value for a bundle sale

Great price, I bought it during the Black Friday sale, so the price per T is less than 19. So, no complaint.NAS hard drives tend to be designed for less noise and 24hs running. So it is a go for people who are still confused, and yes, from the spec you don't feel there is any difference but the design is different, the temputer, design, vibration, and the sin wave power all affect the performance and life of the hard drive, so for me, NAS trim is an insurance, you never want to risk your data, otherwise go with an eBay seller.Overall, the best deal with its value goes to B&H. But the interesting i found from B&H is that they list something beautiful then once you buy it it is no longer available for buy, not sure if this is their strategy.
