Packaged well and arrived quickly. Very nice looking device. The brushed metal and dark plastic really give it a sophisticated look. Light and small too. Transfer speeds are pretty decent too, with transfers maxing out at 137 mb/s for me using the front USB port of my device. That said, take the speeds with a grain of salt as you will not always hit that speed. For my usage, which is the occasional storing and extracting of photos and videos taken on trips this is fine. Oh and take note of the actual capacity, which is around 1.8 TB. This is normal, as with all devices due to the way storage is calculated and all that. Its all some fancy schmancy mumbo-jumbo that I barely understand myself but do keep this in mind if you need a very specific capacity. For me, its ... MorePackaged well and arrived quickly. Value For Money:0/10 - item arrived brokenPerformance:broken on arrivalBest Feature(s):unknownUnfortunately, the device has not worked since purchase. I initially tried to use this device with its regular usb 2.0 cable and insert to a MacBook using an adapter. I tried all troubleshooting when the hd didn’t appear in finder and eventually, had to purchase a separate cable to try to get it to appear. After a couple weeks, I got the new cable to insert directly to my Mac via usb type-c and it still didn’t show. Numerous attempts at troubleshooting and 3 different MacBook tests later, I still can’t use the device. I’m hoping Seagate will do the right thing and replace this device or grant me the full refund I deserve.

Snagged myself a shiny new external HD to give the boot to my old Seagate, which was showing signs of tech fatigue. Had to act quick - that relic held my college demo reel and a complete record of my digital artwork. Being a bit of a penny-pincher, I figured I'd level up gradually, moving from a cozy 2TB to a roomier 4TB. Both drives rock the USB 3.0 vibe, though I gotta admit, migrating my digital life over to the new digs was a bit of a slow dance. The Seagate One Touch? It's decent, does the job. But, word to the wise: venturing beyond 4TB with USB 3.0's pace might test your patience when it's time for the inevitable data shuffle. I'm bracing myself for the day this 4TB buddy asks for a retirement plan.

The device I bought was supposed to allow me to view without paying the fee to Arlo however there are some missing pieces to the puzzle unless you are technically advanced. It’s on the app from Arlo.
This Seagate hard drive has impressed me so far. It's compact, quiet, and integrates seamlessly with my Mac Studio. Pricier, but worth it.While it's only been a few weeks, my past experience with Seagate drives gives me confidence in its longevity. They tend to provide ample warning before any potential issues, allowing time to safeguard your data.If you maintain regular backups, Seagate drives can offer reliable performance for years. I'm pleased with my purchase and anticipate continued satisfaction.
This is a Seagate 2 TB external USB 3.0 hard disk drive in the "space gray" color. If you just want a backup drive (no password), ignore the bundled software and reformat the drive as NTFS or whatever you like. Average continuous write speed is around 25 MB/s and average read speed is somewhere over 34 MB/s. There were no errors when filling the drive with pseudo-random data and reading it back to verify, which is about two days of testing. If you have Java on your computer, you can run the same test program: https://github.com/kwfenske/erase-disk-javaNote that the 4 and 5 TB models are almost twice as thick as the 1 and 2 TB models. To keep the drive and the USB cord together when not in use, pick up a high-tech accessory at the grocery store: medium-sized heavy-duty zipper freezer bags (plastic, 18 cm wide or 7 inch).Review is only four stars out of five, because I don't like hardware passwords, even if they are optional and turned off by default.
