My PC started restarting randomly about 2-3 weeks ago, mostly only during idle. First I was watching a youtube video and it restarted 3 times in a row. A couple of days later it shut down when idle, I pressed the power button and it did nothing. For some brief time it worked fine, it was good while gaming, benchmarks, work, etc. A couple of days later, again, I was away from the PC and I heard the PSU click that it does when it turns off/on. After hearing it two times in a row I went to check and in fact it was the PC restarting when idle. It restarted 2-3 times and then it shut down. I waited like 30 seconds. Maybe it was the RAM overclock, maybe AMD's PBO causing instability. I wasn't sure. So I disassembled and put everything back in. Disabled PBO, removed RAM overclock, etc. It worked fine again for like 2-3 days, I thought everything was fixed. Yesterday I woke up, hit the power button and the PC entered into a shocking boot loop, turning on and off every 1-2 seconds indefinitely, clicking like crazy, it was very scary, I had never experienced something like that and was very afraid my other components could be damaged. I pulled the plug to stop it. Today I tested the PSU with the tester provided in the box. Fan button pressed so fan had to always be running. And it did the same thing, turned on, couple of seconds later turned off with the click, turned back on, etc etc, so I could confirm it was indeed the PSU. Tried in two different wall sockets. Last I saw it turned off and didn't turn back on for some long seconds. I just unplugged it and put it in its box. I'm very disappointed, I expected this to last so much more. I'll be contacting Seasonic to start the RMA process. Will update the review if possible.

I bought this PSU to replace a Corsair CS750M which had rather loud inductor noise, even when idling on the desktop. The Seasonic PSU has virtually imperceptible inductor noise, at much higher and less perceptible frequencies.Relative to the old PSU the Seasonic is as stable and accurate as it gets. Below 12.1V idle and above 11.9V under load on the 12V rail, no significant change anywhere else. Not seeing any major fluctuations although I haven't scoped it for ripple.There is a button to toggle active cooling and dynamic cooling (fan shuts off when cold), this is great since I need the fan to ensure exhaust air isn't pulled back into the PSU. More importantly the PSU only delivers 750W up to a thermal limit (46*C I believe) so be mindful of that. SPECS: i7-7700k 4.20GHz CORSAIR H100i RGB PLATINUM Series CORSAIR 2x8GB Vengeance RAM MSI Z270 TOMAHAWK OPT BOOST MSI RTX 2070 GAMING 8G This PSU Obviously 480 GB Silicon Power SSD NZXT 100i Mid-ATX Case All the components in this PC including the case are brand new EXCEPT the motherboard, which was purchased in 2017, and I'm planning on upgrading that and the CPU when I have the time and money to invest into it. So, this PSU has been in my case since I purchased it and successfully powered my PC up past POST on the first boot, and has worked flawlessly. Nothing indicates that it is poorly built, all the components inside are sturdy, there's no rattling, and the cables are EXTREMELY durable feeling (a little too durable as I had difficulty getting them to bend at a decent enough angle in my tiny case lol, but that's a good thing for me). It (the PSU) has a good weight to it, and comes with a hybrid power mode which I haven't really looked into yet, but I see no reason to over-complicate things for myself and will choose to not really care about it as it's doing a perfect job without it on. It's seriously a quiet PSU though as well, which is great as the case and setup I have now gets quite hot with the small size and power I run, and if the PSU was noisy as well, I probably would not be able to handle all the fans running as fast as they do on all the other things (the radiator being the loudest with 2 120mm fans). Other than that, even though they added the gift card redemption, I think now they're more than qualified as this is my first fully modular PSU and it's been great so far. I've run this tower for weeks on end without powering down and it shows absolutely 0 fluctuations or browning (power sags/dips in voltage), and is perfect for gaming and my work loads for my classes. I think Seasonic has proven themselves to be quite good so far. I will be sure to update this post if anything bad happens and will adjust accordingly, but I doubt I'll need to.
