Nutrition and Supplements Special supplements Seeking Health DIM + I3C 60 vcaps Supportive blend of natural indole compounds May help support healthy estrogen metabolism May help support cellular health May help support liver health DIM + I3C by Seeking Health contains 400 mg of dietary indoles, naturally occurring components of cruciferous vegetables that may help support the bodys healthy estrogen metabolism processes. DIM (diindolylmethane) is a metabolic byproduct of I3C (indole-3-carbinol), a compound found in broccoli, cabbage and other vegetables in the Brassicacae family. These well-known indoles are combined with other related compounds to provide a broad spectrum of support for processing estrogen metabolites, such as 16-alpha hydroxy-estrone. Indole compounds may help support normal hormone metabolism and estrogen processing in favor of a healthy ratio of estrogen metabolites. It is thought that exposure to xenoestrogens found in plastic as well as changes in hormone production during aging may contribute to unbalanced hormone levels. Indole compounds such as those in DIM + I3C may help support the bodys normal hormone processing mechanisms, which are important for maintaining physiological balance. DIM, I3C and other indoles may also help support normal detoxification processes in the liver, regular cell cycle progression, and healthy genetic processes. Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) readily breaks down in the presence of stomach acid into diindolylmethane (DIM). Although diindolylmethane has been claimed to be the preferred form for dietary supplementation, a wide spectrum of indoles such as those found in DIM + I3C may provide a greater range of support, more closely resembling the variety of indoles found in natural sources.

A working supplement, after 2 weeks of regular intake (my doze is 1 capsule per day) I had my period renewed. Good quality without side effects, I take it in the morning and in the evening I drink magnesium, fighting my high cortisol and high estrogen levels die to permanent stress. The size is big but still manageble to swallow, no specific taste or smell noticed.

So, I had almost given up on this supplement. I actually even emailed support at SH to ask them for a refund since I would not be using it. After kind direction from the customer service here, they refunded my money and I decided since I couldn't return it I would keep using it until I was out. I'm glad I did. I have very heavy pre-menopausal bleeding and this helps lessen the bleeding and clotting even if just a little. I will be reordering this one in addition to the Calcuim D-glu! Two great supplements for women's health!

High Quality and WORKS!
30 August 2024

I've been using Seeking Health supplements for a few years now. I trust their quality, they ship quickly, have great customer service and I love their rewards program. This particular supplement has been helping me with my perimenopausal symptoms. I don't know what I would do without it.

Life Changing
15 July 2024

When I took the initial Dirty Genes symptom quiz, I checked every single box for the COMT gene. I started slowly with methylated b vitamins and Calcium D-Glucarate which supported a healthy response to fatigue symptoms by about half. Then, I added the DIM + I3C, and oh, my goodness, I could literally feel my hormones balance with the first dose. I had gotten to the point where the irritability I used to feel for 2-3 days before menstruation had grown in length until I was feeling it my entire cycle. I felt like a MONSTER all the time, helpless to change it, and frustrated because I knew how I felt didn't correspond with the reality of my circumstances. I will say that it does not seem that I need this as much during the first half of my cycle (may also be a result ... MoreWhen I took the initial Dirty Genes symptom quiz, I checked every single box for the COMT gene. I will say that it does not seem that I need this as much during the first half of my cycle (may also be a result of adding Liver Nutrients) and I do not feel well if I take this with my other supplements in the morning. However, when taken in the evenings the 2nd half of my cycle, along with Liver Nutrients and a magnesium/trace minerals supplement, it has an unbelievably emotionally calming effect and also supports healthy muscle tension and inflammatory responses. This is a fantastic product

Nice trio of ingredients

It’s been a slow process adding in different supplements. This has been my most recent addition as I focus on my liver and detox. I wasn’t ready for it sooner. Extremely happy with the results I’m seeing. I wouldn’t want the capsule any larger, especially with it’s not-so-pleasant taste.

Second time around and no problems!
3 January 2024

I submitted a previous review below about starting SLOW due to itching. This time around I'm taking it with CDG and after taking both at the same time at bedtime for a week, I have yet to experience any itching or other detox symptoms so I would highly suggest taking the DIM with the CDG together for added efficacy. I'm still doing castor oil on my liver periodically to keep the detox pathways supported.

So potent you can smell it
7 June 2020

I used to use a different brand of DIM and planned to switch to Seeking Health after finishing them because I really like these supplements. They are truly the highest quality. The other brand of DIM has a slightly different ingredient combination, and no smell whatsoever, so I wonder how well they even worked. You can smell the brassica when you open this bottle. Actually, you can even smell it when it's not opened. I'm really eager to see the difference these make for me.

You may have to start SLOW
5 February 2023

I started this at the recommendation of my OBGYN due to estrogen dominance. I took it five days in a row and started noticing incessant itching in my palms, which then spread to my feet within a few days and then to my belly, head, breast, etc. Having dealt with this itching issue before due to cholestasis during pregnancy, I knew that it was too powerful for my liver to detox efficiently so I had to stop. It's been five months and I'm finally weaning off of Benadryl to keep the itching at bay. Before you take this supplement make sure your liver detox pathways are open and working properly because it's potent! I am now starting it up again but will start out only taking it 1-2 times a week and increase slowly so that my liver can handle it. dim with 13-c

Have been reading reports on 13-c the following is disturbing to me: :Microencapsulated DIM is very stable during storage and during digestion. It turns out that I3C is not active in your body until it is converted into DIM in our stomachs. DIM is formed as I3C combines with itself, in a process that occurs only if just the right amount of stomach acid is present. The problem is that everyone's digestion is a little different, so taking I3C results in unpredictable amounts of DIM. In addition, I3C is highly unstable and can transform into many other non-DIM substances. As a result, a mixture of byproducts leaves the stomach, some being absorbed, but most remaining in the intestinal tract. As a result, a mixture of byproducts leaves the stomach, some being absorbed, but most remaining in the intestinal tract. These I3C byproducts are not the wholesome, well-studied, cancer-preventive substances that some wish they were. Formaldehyde is released in the stomach with every use of I3C. I3C has a mixed reputation -- preventing cancer in some experiments but promoting cancer in others. Also, I3C can react with other substances in your diet, including vitamin C and many foods, making it unpredictable to use as a supplement.Heat and moisture cause I3C to break down in supplement capsules and turn into a host of other substances of which DIM is only a small portion. undesirable side effects, I would not recommend its use." Dr. Bradlow has since written numerous articles on the benefits of DIM.
