After having my HD 4.40BT’s for over 5 years now and only needing to replace the earcups, I thought I’d give these a while at half price. One of the best decisions I’ve made. The 458BT brings across all the things that made my 4.40BT’s great. Easy Bluetooth pairing with superb range, phenomenal sound quality squeezed out of Bluetooth, insane battery life and a solid design with high quality materials.I’ve heard complaints about the headband size and comfort ability but I’ve got a huge noggin and can work 8 hours in these with ease. The noise cancelling isn’t the best in the market but it does manage to block louder noises quite impressively for its price.Sennheiser’s Sound Check mode is great for people who are inexperienced with EQ’s and makes it really easy ... MoreAfter having my HD 4.40BT’s for over 5 years now and only needing to replace the earcups, I thought I’d give these a while at half price. Let me start by saying that I am by no means some kind of audio expert. However, I can tell you that I have certainly spent my share of hard earned dollars over a lifetime on all sorts of headsets and plugs, usually in the $100-$150 range. I was told about these from one of the excellent members of the staff at BestBuy after I had decided to get something decent for my home theater set up. As we walked towards the Magnolia section of the shop my heart began to sink knowing full well that I was gonna be giuded toward something that was amazing but wouldnt be able to justify the cost of. I was partially correct. From the literal first second I tried these on, I was blown away. No exaggeration at all the sound was so good its shocking. These cans sound better than my $500 surround sound system and far better than anything I've ever owned. Not even close. Synched up seamlessly to my LGC1 and provides full atmos and 7.1 support without any delays or lag. They also worked my XBOX Series X and although they do not include a mic these are an absolute game changer during Halo or COD. Comes with a nice little case and fold away for easy storage. The accompanying app allows you to fine tune your audio as needed and noise canceling works well although not the greatest. If there is one draw back its that they are quite tight around the head. I imagine this is part of the noise canceling capabilities. Overall I am still amazed just about every time I watch something like Dune or Shang Chi with these. Highly recommended.

I bought these in July 2022 and haven't used them except rarely and not for long each time. The sound quality wasn't good at all. It seemed dry, dull, flat, lifeless compared to the other headphones I have.I have seen YouTube reviews of headphones claiming the HD 450BT to have the best sound quality among headphones in their price range. And this left me confused. One reviewer compared these to the Edifier W820NB putting them at number 1 with the Edifier at number 2.I have the Edifier W820NB and they sound amazing. Their sound if dynamic, clean, crisp, clear and beautiful. So how is it possible that these Sennheiser could sound better than the Edifier? Then the reviewer talked about the audio cable for these and mentioned it required a twist to lock them into ... MoreI bought these in July 2022 and haven't used them except rarely and not for long each time. So I wondered if it was possible I did not have the cable properly seated in the headphones.Dusting off my rarely used Sennheiser HD 458BT, I inserted the 2.5mm jack of the audio cable into the headphone port and gave it a twist. That didn't feel right until I pushed the jack in a little harder and was rewarded with a slight click as it went in a little bit more...like it had seated properly.I guess that was the problem with the sound quality because they now sound much better. All this time I was thinking people are crazy for saying the SQ was excellent with these Sennheisers. Turns out I was using them improperly.

Overall I had to return these ears due to the REALLY PAINFUL fit of the headband, if you have a small skull these will be great for you if not then don't bother.PROS: In general (apart from headband) well made, easy folding, good sound, easy to use, quick charging, good connectivity and come with a handy travel bag to store them in.CONS: Terrible headband made with almost non existent padding. Once flexed and in place the band pressure caused pain, a hot spot and a slight headache due to the discomfort. I pushed them to the back of my head then to the front still no better. If there's even 3mm of foam under the outer covering of the underside of the headband I'd be very surprised.Purchased online due to Covid and the fact I live in a remote location nowhere near ... MoreOverall I had to return these ears due to the REALLY PAINFUL fit of the headband, if you have a small skull these will be great for you if not then don't bother.PROS: In general (apart from headband) well made, easy folding, good sound, easy to use, quick charging, good connectivity and come with a handy travel bag to store them in.CONS: Terrible headband made with almost non existent padding. These HD458bt headphones from Sennheiser are a really great buy if you’re looking for quality, durability and a very clean sound without the mids giving that hollow like effect, or too much bass drowning out the other notes. They’re especially a great buy if you manage to pick these up for the sale price of $129.99. I honestly don’t know if you can pick up a better set at this price point!I bought these today from my local Best Buy to replace my HD350bt which I’ve used every day (no joke) for over 2 years. The power button was getting stuck so it would switch to pairing mode at times. I am not too disappointed considering how well the 350s have held up from daily use over the past couple of years, I’ve travelled, used in the gym and I must have dropped them I ... MoreThese HD458bt headphones from Sennheiser are a really great buy if you’re looking for quality, durability and a very clean sound without the mids giving that hollow like effect, or too much bass drowning out the other notes. As someone who has used many different make and model headphones, I can happily recommend these for your everyday use.
The main reason for my purchase was to wirelessly connect to my TV and my computer. The headphones connected to the TV fine via bluetooth and received audio okay (a bit of an echo), but the headphones would not receive audio from the computer (although they connected via bluetooth fine). Sennheiser customer support (no phone support; had to communicate via email) recommended trying to update the firmware for the bluetooth chip on the motherboard ... that was not going to happen for a variety of reasons. I could get audio from the computer if I plugged the headphones into it, but the jack appeared faulty as the audio would cut out if I plugged it in completely (and yes, the PC's headphone port works fine with other headsets) ... this ended up being the deal-breaker. ... MoreThe main reason for my purchase was to wirelessly connect to my TV and my computer. Other comments: as noted by others, the headphones are not over-the-ear for normal-sized ears, but I knew that prior to my purchase. I wasn't impressed by the app, but since I was only using it while troubleshooting the connection to my computer, I never even saw (e.g.,) the audio adjustment screens. Anyways, I returned the headphones. (BTW, Best Buy service was great, both regarding the online purchase (very fast home delivery) and the in-store return.)
Purchased this Sennheiser - HD 458B just wanting a quality headphone. This brand was highly recommended by a friend, so I gave it a try. The headphone seem to fit a little loose on me but was fine as long as I wasn’t running or working out with them on. Other than that, they were comfortable and the padding around the ears were soft.I wasn’t impressed with the sound. Wish there was a little more base from from this set. The noise canceling isn’t so great either. Maybe I’m just spoiled from the noise canceling on my earbuds? If I planned to buy another set of Sennheiser’s, I might try and higher line. Still, for the price, not too bad of a deal.
I've been using these headphone a lot over the last couple months and I absolutely love them. I managed to buy these at a bit of a discount. The red accent is just visual, they are the exact same headphones as the HD 450BT so I don't think you should spend any more than 450s for these.Sound quality is great. If you're huge into audio quality than you're probably going to be looking elsewhere anyway. But getting headphones with better sound quality would both be unnoticeable to the vast majority of users, and financially impractical due to the diminishing returns for 'better' headphones as in you're paying more for smaller increases in audio quality.Noise canceling is pretty good. I use it often just to have a more quiet working space. It works best for getting rid of a constant noise like the humming of an appliance. Anecdotal but oddly enough these almost 100% cancel out the sound of my refrigerator while almost everything else I can hear faintly.Iphone App is OK. I hardly use it since I adjusted the audio settings initially.Comfort is pretty good. I have an average sized head and ears. If you have bigger ears the cups might be a bit tight for you. The headphones are also fairly light. They're made of plastic but it feels like a sturdy type of plastic. All functionally is on the right ear. It may take some getting used to what the controls are.Battery life is great. I really only have to charge these like once a week and I use them quite often throughout the day off and on.These headphones collapse and come with a simple tough canvas carrying case. Nothing fancy, they don't really need anything more.Phone calls are a bit weird on these. That's one ear these aren't that great. They repeat your voice into your own ear which I don't really like. Also, the sound of your voice to the person you're talking to makes you sound a bit muffled, this is due to the microphone being back at your ear so it's not picking up your voice as well as it could if it was in front of you.Strongly recommend these headphones.
Bought this on a promotion for $70. It was used 2 times and one of the cushions came off. Had to glue it back. Now my OCD hates looking at the imperfections of the glue line.Sound quality is no better than cheaper headphones. Neither is battery life of comfort.I can't imagine how mad I'd be if I paid full price for these headphones. Best Buy should be embarrassed of carrying this.Do yourself a favor and look for an alternative. At this price point, there are many high quality options out there.
I got these on sale, and I love them. They fit comfortably over my ears, and the adjustable headband is easy to use. I can't use pods because they make my ears hurt. These have saved me from horrible flights, nosy relatives, and overstimulated anxiety attacks. I even wear them turned off on hangover and migraine days when I can't tolerate any noise, and they do an excellent job of dampening ambient sounds enough so that they don't hurt my head, but I can still hear them. While the headphones are bulky, they can be folded and I like the case that comes with them - makes it fairly easy to store and travel with. The one thing I wish could be improved is the material of the cover - the leather makes it comfortable for sure, but they're difficult to clean and keep clean. ... MoreI got these on sale, and I love them.
