Luckily I managed to see my dentist today and having considered possibilities for my problem have concluded I’m allergic to the SLS in this toothpaste.I am extremely disappointed to find Sensodyne even state on their website that such reactions can occur. My mouth is sensitive and prone to peeling/sloughing. The detergent used in this toothpaste called sodium laurel sulfate (SLS) causes skin to slough off, and for me it was occurring every morning when I would wake up, I would have skin peeling off the inside of my lips. It started happening between my bottom lips and my gums when I nearly finished my second tube. I ended up finding a new brand of toothpaste that works better for me, one containing no SLS but instead uses cocoamidopropyl-betaine (CAPB). I haven’t have that problem since switching to a new toothpaste. (:

So this is my first time using a charcoal or in this case a coconut derived charcoal (had to google what that was) toothpaste. I'm pleasantly surprised! I do have sensitive teeth so using Sensodyne is a great thing for me in relieving sensitivity. I'm excited that I have a new option now. The toothpaste is not gritty at all which is what I was expected but it does foam up pretty well. Because it foamed up I feel like I had more liquid in my mouth when brushing and had to pause a few times to spit out the excess. I was surprised that my whole mouth turned black but it easily rinses out when finished brushing. Again not sure why I was surprised but the minty taste is really nice and refreshing. After trying the Sensodyne with charcoal I have to say it is my new first choice!
