I don't love the Sephora Matte Perfection Foundation, but I do like it. I was not able to find a shade that matched my overtone, so I went with what was closest, which was Linen. Linen is just a little too light, but the next shade up is too dark. I don't use the sponge that came with it because I find that it distributes too much product and just looks very cakey on my skin. Instead, I use a triangular puff and find that that works much better. The product does seem to go quickly. I don't wear makeup very frequently, and have already hit pan. Overall, it's a pretty good product, but not a favourite.

I am a MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation fan through and through. I have gone through so many compacts. But unfortunately mine ran out and I needed a new powder foundation asap for my purse. Sephora was close by and bonus, having a 30% off sale for their brand items. The sales girl showed me this guy and said it was better than most high end products! It felt very silky soft, almost creamy. I figured why not? I was colour matched and off I went. It’s not awful, but it is no where near the level this girl was hyping it up to be. It looked so powdery on the skin and didn’t blend in nicely. Coverage was decent, I can’t fault that, but it doesn’t last. My biggest gripe??? The colour oxidized after two weeks. It went from being a soft pink, to orange. I was furious. I ... MoreI am a MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation fan through and through. I have gone through so many compacts. I'm not wild about the feeling of "I'm-wearing-makeup-makeup" (unless you count my embarrassing 9th grade orange jawline of drugstore foundation's attempt at concealing acne.) Sometimes the color number or color name or the actual compact has changed, showing just how many years and years that I've been using it! I like that the powder is light, yet buildable, and it lasts all day without feeling like heavy makeup. I'm usually pleased with Sephhora's own line of cosmetics too - for the price and quality.

Awesome powder foundation, especially for oily ski
13 February 2023

This is a top notch powder foundation - especially for the price point. It is breathable and buildable. 12 Fair Warm is a perfect match for me and I hope Sephora never discontinues or changes this product. I’m able to get really lovely, smooth coverage using this over my Smashbox liquid foundation. The consistency of this powder is ideal; it’s almost creamy and has a forgiving quality over drier/rougher areas of skin. It lasts all day on my oily skin and I get compliments often on my complexion. I used to swear by MUFE Duo Mat, but since that was discontinued, this has more than lived up as a solid replacement.

Easy to use, comfortable all day wear, affordable
12 November 2023

Very happy with this powder. Great for when I'm in a hurry. I just apply my moisturizer, wait a couple minutes and lightly apply the powder with a fluffy powder brush. I don't find primer necessary with this powder. It's the perfect amount of coverage for me to even out my skin tone and give some life to my dull complexion. It doesn't dry me out and it does not make me oily. As well, I can wear it all day and it does not cause any bumps or breakouts. In my photo, it is 6hrs after I put it on in the morning and it still looked fresh with no touchups needed. I'm sad to see that this powder is being discontinued/reformulated, so I am definitely buying a couple extras while it's on sale.

Great for mattifying oil, not good for dry skin
14 June 2023

After using this product for the past year, it does the job for mattifying the face, especially one hot days where my face (t-zone) gets very oily and shiny. I like using the Sephora foundation brush with it. I find that if I use the flat sponge included in the foundation, it doesn't work as well and especially if you press too hard, it'll create a weird texture with the foundation and it won't apply correctly.Something I don't like is how this foundation powder is a bit messy since when I use my brush to get some product, the powder goes everywhere since tiny bits of it flake off very easily. It also isn't good on dry skin at all. I have dry cheekbones and eyelids but oily forehead and nose, so it works great on the forehead and nose but on the cheekbones, it ... MoreAfter using this product for the past year, it does the job for mattifying the face, especially one hot days where my face (t-zone) gets very oily and shiny. But, if you need a quick mattifier for your oily spots, this is a great, cheaper product.

Great foundation for the price!
10 February 2024

I received this yesterday. It was shipped from Vancouver to Toronto. Based on other reviews I was worried it would be smashed up. It arrived in tact. It has a low profile case which is nice for travel, a mirror and a hidden sponge. It goes on smooth and looks natural. I purchased #28 - cool beige which was based on my skin profile scan in store. It was the perfect shade for my complexion. It arrived in a padded envelope which included the two samples I had selected. Best of all, it was on sale. I would purchase again.

Lightweight, light/medium coverage, USE A BRUSH

If you just need a little evening out of your skin tone, this is the foundation for you. If you hate wearing full-face makeup but like looking put together, as long as your skin is pretty decent then this is the foundation for you. If you need full coverage, it’s absolutely NOT. However - if I have a blemish I use Nars concealer first (the kind in the pot, & liquid/cream products always go under powders!) then this foundation over it which works beautifully. This foundation also blends VERY well with powder contours and highlighters, while also being very lightweight. The higher end Sephora brand powder foundation brush, concealer brush, & contour brush (game changers!) and the Fenty highlighter brush (also a game changer!). You applicator matters!! The sponge that comes with this WILL use all of it super fast and not do a very good job applying it. Throw it away. Use brushes. Anyway, I love this stuff. Never switching.

Love This So Much
23 June 2020

This is my first time using a pressed powder foundation and I'm super impressed. A little bit goes a long way and it offers some great coverage for a light powder. I was expecting to have my face look incredibly powdery afterwards but I was really pleased to see that it blended into my skin amazingly well. I was also worried it would be too light at first, but once I began blending it in, it was a perfect match. My ColorIQ matched me to a darker color, but with the "Foundation Finder", based on the shades that I use already this was my "Exact Match" and it is perfect. It looks like my skin but way, way better (my favorite type of foundation - I like to look like myself, not like I'm wearing a mask). On these hot days here in SoFla, I prefer lighter foundations but still want coverage and I think this is a great way to achieve that plus getting that poreless, soft matte appearance and keeps any shininess at bay. I've used this also as my powder after applying my foundation and this added a smidge more coverage and kept my makeup looking flawless. Gorgeous product and it's like having two products in one. This is a serious multi-tasker and I really am loving this.

WORST MAKEUP I'VE EVER PURCHASED
26 July 2023

I was in the market for a powder foundation with it being summer and all. I saw this on here... skimmed the reviews.. and since it was on sale, thought I found a good thing. I wore this last week on the lakefront of my beautiful city, Chicago. when I got back into my vehicle, I fliped the visor to check my face... see if I needed a little lip touch up or to blot a little oil and to my absolute horror my makeup had separated on my face. As I used my beauty blender in an attempt to try to fix it, blend it in and blot it, it continued to separate! I was completely mortified that I had been walking around, thinking that I was cute, and all the time my face looked like that. I was completely mortified that I had been walking around, thinking that I was cute, and all the time my face looked like that. I've heard of makeup separating but it has NEVER happened to me- which should go to show that I do not have particularly oily skin. I do have combination skin and one of my staples for the summer is Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation- if you know, you know. I just don't understand how I did not see any reference to this in any of the reviews I read! It was not a particularly hot nor humid day, I didn't do anything extra to my face, do not use heavy moisturizer creams when I'm wearing makeup, and I even used milk primer as WELL as Laura Mercier setting powder (dusted lightly across my T Zone only). I will say, that it didn't separate in the areas that I likely dusted the setting powder, but that is still unacceptable. I was so disgusted that I didn't even bother returning it I just literally threw it in the trash. Oh, I had to give it one star to be able to leave a review but really, it deserves none.
