Let me say this before, I was NOT a shark person before. I previously bought the Shark® Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with PowerFins Technology and Self CleaningBrushroll, WZ240, which I completely hated. I have been researching different vacuums before buying this one, I watched the Shark Stratos on the YouTube channel Vacuum wars, and saw how amazing it worked. I was still skeptical due to my previous cordless shark, but I bought it anyway. I have three dogs, one being a lab who I swear sheds her body weight daily! This vacuum is amazing with hair, dirt, and anything in between! It is able to pick up bigger pieces off the floor unlike a lot of vacuums, the hair does not get rapped around the brush, the canister is a very good size, it works amazing on carpet, hard ... MoreLet me say this before, I was NOT a shark person before. Overall an amazing vacuum, the only con I would say is battery life, but they are the removable batteries and you can buy additional batteries for it. I highly recommend this vacuum!

This is a really good cordless vacuum with only a couple of areas that could use improvement. It does a very good job of picking up dirt and pet hair from carpet and is very easy to empty without the need to reach into the container to pull out hair which is a common problem with vacuums. It has enough space to hold a few rugs of dirt and pet hair. If you have a large job, you will likely have to empty it more than once. I have two dogs and plenty of dog hair and experienced absolutely no hair wrap as they claim. The Clean Sense seems to work as it changes during the course of vacuuming and has an indicator to tell you how hard it is working. I just assume it is working as it changes but have no way to actually test it. It folds in half, and easily tucks away in the corner of a room without getting in the way. I vacuumed 4 large area rugs and had about 60% of the battery left. It allows it to fold in such a way to allow it to easily get under furniture and does fit under very low furniture. The vacuum does not stand up on its own when not folded and requires it to lean up against something it you need to set it aside. Unfortunate. Also, there is no indicator to tell you when it is charging and when it is done changing so you just have to plug it in and guess when it is done. Also unfortunate. These two problems should be fixed.Overall, very good cordless vacuum that's easy to just quickly grab and use.

I have hardwood floors with Ruggable® rugs throughout the house, they're very thin and more like a material. The first time I use this it grabbed hold of the rug and wouldn't let loose the suction was so strong, it works best for me and eco mode on those particular rugs. The rug manufacturer recommends no beater bars, but on that mode it seems to be well enough not to damage the carpet.I was a little disappointed that you have to cycle through the suction speeds rather than being able to choose bare floors or rugs like the old version. I did find that I be able to do the whole house twice on eco mode without having to charge, it would have been nice to have a spare.

Bought 4 months ago and use it daily on carpet and hard floors. A little awkward to use on stairs (the head turns off when upright) but works pretty well overall. The dirt detection is pretty sensitive (the tiniest crumb make this thing go crazy) but the lowest "rest" may not be strong enough to pick up dirt as efficiently - I'd rather it just run on medium suction all the time. The container fills up pretty quickly with hair and dust, but cleaning it out is one-button quick, clean and easy. So far - no hair wraps on the rollers BUT lots of wraps on the mini-wheels under the head unit such that they freeze and drag (and mark floors) - they seem a bit forgotten in the "no hair wraps" promise of the advertising. The way the shaft bends is very handy to get under ... MoreBought 4 months ago and use it daily on carpet and hard floors. The way the shaft bends is very handy to get under tables and couches. The "scent" is a silly gimmick that makes the vacuum smell like a urinal puck and does little else. Once it loses smell, just spray the puck with air freshener, it does the exact same thing. Battery life is OK - it ticks down in 10-percent increments on the display (so why have two digits, then?) and lasts about 30-40 minutes. A "time left" gauge would be much more useful. If you have multiple floors in your home, its good to have multiple batteries... and that leads me to my biggest gripe - the lack of accessories in Canada (or anywhere else) - you can't order extra batteries, or a small powered brush for stairs, or buy replacement HEPA filters or replacement pre-filters! Shark loses money here for sure - people owning this vac are desperate for batteries. There's no charging dock either, so when you put it away you have to chase down the loose cord and plug it in, and it doesn't stand up well because it falls over sideways both extended and folded in half - not a huge thing but a bit annoying at the $500 price point. Support is non-existent - try to find a chat or email on the Shark web page.... or forums, or even a phone number. Shark, like Ninja, are drop shipped from China to a warehouse and if anything breaks, Costco will gladly swap it and throw the whole thing into a landfill. Nothing is fixable or replaceable on this model (yet... Fall 2023). That said, it's a powerful little vac that does whet it says it will do, and really you can't ask for more than that, but when you try to go toe-to-toe with Dyson, you really do need the backend to back it up.
I have taken over a lot of housekeeping duties duties and have been "fighting" with a corded, roll around cannister vac. The brand and model did a great cleaning job but I H A T E D pulling it out, moving plug-in location, banging into furniture, walking back to plug in the cord, changing bags, you know the rest of the drill.Vacuuming carpeted stairs was a work out like going to a cross-fit gym. After getting tangled up in the cord and dang near falling down the stairs and breaking my neck, I decided enough was enough. If I am going to do the work, I need better tools.I researched cordless models at Consumer Reports and settled on the Shark Stratos model - highly rated and a reasonable price.Wow I am DELIGHTED! I figured that I would run over out hardwood floors and nooks and crannies and maybe surface clean the low pile oriental carpets then run the BIG vac once per month.Cleaning the house was a breeze. I loved this out-of-box, get right to work tool. The packaging was great - no damage. Assembly was EZ. And the more I used the vac with its swivel head and tilting for ALL-THE-WAY-UNDER chairs and sofas, I realized how handicapped I was by the old style vac. I got to places that haven't been touched in years.I ran our existing vac one more time do deep clean before using the Stratos. I was shocked at the cannisters full of "stuff" that the Stratos picked up that the existing unit did not.And the attachments are functional and handy - can you say, "Dust Buster on Steroids?"And those stairs? A dream to clean.I doubt that the old vac will be pulled out again. Buy this one!

I bought this vac online at Costco about 1 month ago. The suction power is great but the battery charge doesn't last very long. It's good for quick mess clean up as long as you're not vaccuuming a lot of areas especially if you need to vaccuum on the high power mode which I do because I hhave 2 dogs. I feel for the price we paid on sale at Vostco for $399.99 this vaccuum should come with 2 rechargeable batteries and at least 2 sets if washable filters. The battery runs about $80 plus tax and the filters run about $15 a set plus tax. I bought the extra battery online at shark's website and wanted to buy 2 sets of filters and the rep informed me they we're out if them and to try and get them on Amazon. If your selling a specific product you should have parts available ... MoreI bought this vac online at Costco about 1 month ago. If your selling a specific product you should have parts available and on hand for you're customers. I have to wash mine and let them dry after vaccuuming 2 times because they get that dirty when you have pets. You could go longer without cleaning the filters but it won't protect your vaccuum as well when the filters get too dirty.
Quite disappointing. I didn’t have the tech package so I could return it after 15 days. I want my money back but it’s too late. I’m not happy. Everything is awesome about the vacuum cleaner except the IQ part. It really makes the vacuum perform less well because it has a range from 100% and it goes down as your back and if the IQ sensors are blocked the percentage goes down so you have less power. Well that’s a problem because there’s nothing blocking the IQ sensor but it’s only vacuum it like it’s 70 or 80% and that’s a problem at 100% clean 100% power at all times, so I don’t know I can’t figure that IQ sensor part. I don’t know it’s pretty cool smells good with a freshner that’s included and it’s true that it does it gather a wrap hair around the blade. The ... MoreQuite disappointing. The accessories that you can attach are very useful for cleaning the top of the ceiling fan with blades. Or under a couch a little the cordless feature is great because that’s such a pain when you’re trying to vacuum and have to carry a cord everywhere with you were accidentally vacuum over it or wrap it up when you’re done this takes the work out of the job. And vacuum is very light for my carpal tunnel in hand, pain and neuropathy and Neurology issues.
I’m always on the lookout for new vacuums and one of my favorite brands “Shark” just came out with the new “Stratos” model with “Clean Sense” technology, so I had to give it a go.Unboxing and setting up:The Stratos arrived in a very nicely logoed cardboard box which was pretty compact for a vacuum, the vac was nestled inside a cardboard and pressed paper cradle and was very well protected. The handheld vacuum main unit, Duoclean floor nozzle head, Multiflex wand, dusting tool, crevice/brush tool, odor neutralizer package, power adapter and quick start guide. The first thing I did was to remove the battery and hook up the charger, it did take a couple hours to get a solid white “fully charged” icon but it was ready to go after that. The handheld vacuum unit snaps right into the Multiflex wand then snap that into the Duoclean power head, pretty simple, and all the connectors have pretty large buttons for removal that are easy to find. There’s also a new odor neutralizer feature that you must install the scent cartridge in the top of the Duoclean head, the scent is adjustable, or you can remove the scent part of the cartridge, but you must install the control part of that in the head one way or other.First use:I like how the power button is situated on this new model, we did have an older Shark cordless stick vac and the power button was mixed in with the other control buttons making it way to easy to shut off the vac in the middle of cleaning. There’s also power select button behind the power button but it’s on a different side right where your thumb can hit it.I did set the scent control to minimum as we don’t like too much scent around the house, and we were pleasantly surprised, while a little strong, it wasn’t bad and had a familiar fabric softener type scent, we’d compare it to the “Clean” scent most advertise. There’s also a light bar on top of the Duoclean head that when you have the Clean Sense IQ setting selected the bar gets longer and the motor spins up showing that it’s hit a dirty spot and you can go over that area till the light bar and speed goes back down. The sensor seems pretty “sensitive”, there were areas the bar would jump up and the motor speed would ramp up quickly, then go right back down. Looking in the debris canister you can easily see the junk it has picked up.I’m glad to see that Shark still has headlights on their vacuums, we really don’t understand why some of the other manufacturers do not include this feature. The unit is very easy to maneuver around, and the power head is only 10” wide so it’s very easy to get under chairs in our dining room. They also kept the flex wand which is one of our favorite features. With a simple press of a button that’s a couple inches in front of the hand unit and the wand flexes down so you can easily push the head underneath a bed, coffee table or any other piece of furniture that it will fit under. The other vacs do not have this feature.Comparisons:We have a couple other cordless stick vacs from Dyson and I wanted to give this a good run for the money. I wanted to see how this new Shark stands up against the others, so my first tests were to vacuum the whole house with our large Dyson stick, then go over everything with the smaller Dyson stick, and finally go over everything again with the Shark. Once I was finished, I looked at the dust bin and couldn’t believe it, the Shark actually picked up a lot “and I mean a lot” even after I went over everything with two over vacuums. Then to further test I waited a couple days, then went over a small area of carpet from our Family room, hall, and home office “this was an area of heavy travel. I started with the large Dyson again, then the small Dyson and then the Shark. The large Dyson picked up some dirt, fuzz and debris, “not much since that are had already been over thoroughly a couple days before. The small Dyson really didn’t pick up anything, but the Shark, it didn’t have any large debris in it but had a coating on the inside of the bin of very very fine dust, enough to where you could see it “and I had washed the bin the day before so I could see clearly”. This is pretty amazing for the new shark. Conclusion,The new Shark Stratos performed exceptionally well, it bested our two Dysons in cleaning performance. Battery run time was great “unless you use max” but using the IQ sense I was able to vacuum all the floors in our home and still had over 50% life. The Stratos only comes with one battery, “their older unit came with two and our larger Dyson also came with two”, I like having a second battery just in case we forget to plug it in or are doing a deep cleaning and need more time. I do like the dual brush rollers and the way they groom the carpet giving it a perfect “cleaned” look. The rollers do not pick up hair “the others don’t either” but the front “soft” roller is removable and washable as it was in the older models and this is something I really liked as it does get a little grimy looking after a few uses.I like the ergonomics of the Shark in hand vac mode more than the other two, it’s a little sleeker and with the attachment affixed it seems easier to get in and around tight places. Our large Dyson has attachments but due to its large size hooking them to the main unit doesn’t work very well at all. The other thing is storing the Stratos is so much easier, just press a button just down from the front of the unit and it folds over itself and locks in place giving it a very small footprint, the two Dysons take up a lot more room and need to be hung on the wall, propped up on a corner or use a stand to set them in, and this takes up a good bit of room for a stick vac.Cleaning the Stratos is very simple, emptying the dust container is easy, just push forward on a small slider toward the top left of the unit and the front door swings right open. We both like this better as my wife has a difficult time trying to get the Dysons open without pulling their lever too hard and jamming up the whole thing. The dust container also comes right off with another push button on the front of the dust container giving access to all the filters. There are two at the back of the dust bin and one other HEPA type filter around the motor that comes right out “wasn’t obvious till I checked the manual” but they all come out easily and can be washed in the sink “cold water, no soap”. The dust bin itself can be easily washed out in the sink and there’s nothing in there to damage doing so.In the end, if you are looking for an excellent stick vac that does an extremely good job of picking up dirt, even very fine dust then the new Shark Stratos should be high on your shopping list “if not on the top”.
I really wanted to like this vacuum because I have been using shark products for years and loved them, but not this vacuum. The faults don’t lie in its power, suction or the multi roller head, all those are great. Where this vacuum suffers is in it’s build quality, clean sense feature, battery and competition. First it has a feature where it folds in half for easy storage and under furniture cleaning but when it’s locked in it’s normal upright position, the joint wobbles and isn’t very tight giving you a feeling of cheapness.Second is the clean sense feature, this was so close to being a good way to prolong battery life that if they just tweaked it a little it would be good. The problem is it fluctuates the vacuums speed to rapidly, that’s not a problem on ... MoreI really wanted to like this vacuum because I have been using shark products for years and loved them, but not this vacuum. The problem is it fluctuates the vacuums speed to rapidly, that’s not a problem on hardwood floors, but on carpet, it is a big problem when the speed of the rollers determines the easiness of pushing the vacuum through carpet. So what you’re left with is when you try to vacuum your rug the vacuums speed will go up and down so fast it will be easy to push then hard as heck. I think if they just add a 5 or 10 second delay before the motor chose to ramp up or down it would be a nicer to use feature.Third is the battery, while most battery operated vacuums offer one battery with the vacuum they at least sell the battery separately so you can have two and swap, Shark does not. To make it worse the other model of battery powered vacuum they sell even has a kit with two batteries included, so they know there is demand for it. Also I have only had mine for a month and the battery won’t charge above 70% for some reason. I’ll leave it on the charger for 48 hours, go to vacuum and the screen will show 70% charge, I’ll get 3~5min out of it and will just die, sometimes I’ll take it off the charger saying 70% and it will last 10~12min.Fourth and final is competition, they have a lot. Yes Dyson is not really the competition because they are more expensive, but not as far off as you would think. I am more referring to LG, Samsung and Tineco. The lg and Samsung offers a docking station that allows the vacuum to charge without using a little cord and barrel plug, all three companies offer a packaged optioned with 2 batteries, and they sell the battery by itself as well. All three have similar options in the same price family.
