Purchased in May of 2020. Last night July 1st 2022 we went to make popcorn like a typical friday night. Typed in 2:30 seconds and it started rattling and popping and burning. It wouldn't stop and the smoke started bellowing out. We shut it off unplugged it and literally threw it outside. Trash! Junk! Would not recommend! Lasted two years! Our last microwave lasted like 10 years.

Downside is the the push button release for the door---that spring mechanism has failed on my last two Sharp microwaves after several years of use,past the one year warranty. Everything else worked fine. Hate to add to landfill for one simple mechanical flaw that renders the unit inoperable. Reported to Sharp and their accommodation was to offer to sell me a new one at price that was more than Best Buy. Also the motor is noisy. Otherwise a decent value.

Purchased this item 3/25/22. After 7 months, well within the 1 year warranty period, the door latch mechanism failed and the door will not open. I contacted Sharp customer support by phone and on line but so far no response regarding repair service options; very disappointing. (The last microwave I had was a similar Sharp product and it worked fine for over 10 years. I only replaced it because the white color had faded.)
Just the right size physically & power; not big & enough power to pop pop-corn (power "test" I use) without problems. Controls & operation are rather simple or can use more sophisticated controls. Inside light is on when running & turntable turns smoothly. This microwave gave me everything I wanted when looking for a microwave. Not only that, it was on sale for under $100.
The microwave cooks great and is a perfect size. I was so disappointed, however, that excess condensations builds up when cooking most anything. It will not dry out on it's own. You either have to leave the door open for several minutes after using it or wipe it down immediately. There is so much moisture, it has led to rust spots in several areas. I am a child of the 80s and grew up using many microwave brands, even Sharp ones. None have ever done this - is there a problem with a vent? Was there a recall on this model?
This microwave over replaces two failed ones during the last year: (1) a Sharp the same size in black/grey that had the keyboard number covers crack and peel. (2) a Toshiba the same size that burned out in 3-weeks of use.This Sharp really seems great. The white color makes operating its control options very easy and clear. The plastic number covers seems to hold up better. So far it has worked well. The beep at the end of the cook cycle is pretty loud and can't be controlled, but that is a minor gripe. I recommend this modle.

I really liked my old one, and this Sharp was the closest I could find in terms of features and size to it (and it was one of the few you can still get in white).The good news is the size of the microwave is almost identical both inside and out, to my old one. I thought I would miss that, but I actually prefer it with no light, since I frequently leave the door open after cooking moist/steamy food so the inside of the machine can dry out easily. No light with door open means you don't have to worry about burning the lamp out if you do leave the door open frequently to air it out.There is really only one thing about this microwave that needs improvement, and that's the rotating glass plate. It is super easy to knock out of the center rotating mount; I find that sometimes even lightly sliding a plate with food into it will bump the glass tray enough out of its socket to need to take everything out and re-seat it. It happens enough to be annoying. It's really the only major design flaw this product has, so hopefully Sharp will modify it in the next version they put out.
This microwave was inexpensive and worked perfectly for about 5 months. Then the door opener stopped working. I contacted the company and they replaced it with a black one like it. The company told me that it was still under warranty and sent me a new one but the only choice was black. The new one works perfectly and I appreciated the quick service and the absolutely-no-hassle resolution to this purchase.
I had a Sharp microwave for years and years. It was great. When it finally expired, I looked for the same one. Found this at Best Buy for a great price. Shipped very fast! It works great. The button locations make sense and the shortcut buttons are very useful. I also like the push button to open the door. It’s easy and smooth.
