So let me start by saying, I have had 5 kids and cancer. To say I've lost a lot of hair is an understatement. I have struggled terribly for the last 2 years to keep what hair I have and have tried sooooo many products claiming to help with that. That being said I still have quite some clumpfulls of hair falling out each day and A LOT of breakage. I bought this on sale now thinking it would do much. My breakage nowdays is almost non existent.my hair loss tho still bad is NOTHING like it was!! I swear it! My hair has never looked healthier either! I highly recommend this product, all their hair products actually, as I use them on my curly headed son too so we have about 8 or 9 Shea moisture products in the bathroom at any given time. I am so happy I had the opportunity of trying this high-quality treatment masque. It left my hair feeling refreshed and very healthy. I have 3c hair and after using this mask, I noticed higher defined curls as well as frizz control. I have been looking for a product that could help with my very bothersome frizz and this one definitely looks like it has made a difference. My first time using the masque I shampooed as usual and damp dried my hair. I scooped a generous amount of this thick, rich and delightfully fragrant masque and worked it into my roots to ends of my hair. That being said, it works wonderfully on extremely dry, coarse Caucasian hair and curly Caucasian hair, and African American hair that is not protein sensitive.The smell is strong but not unpleasantHere’s the thing. I don’t use it the way the directions say. This is a VERY dense, heavy, opaque conditioner. I apply it to dirty, dry hair, working it through my hair in sections and really concentrating on the ends. Then I twist my hair up in a clip for an hour. Finally, I wash it out with regular shampoo and then use my regular conditioner. I was unsure at first whether this would work for my hair as the girl at the store told me it was for more of a textured typed hair rather mine. Those products provide short term results and end up weighing down my hair. I enjoyed the smell of this product and I find the tub to be quite large which will go a long way. I guess the reason for my 4* would be for the tub. I get it would be hard to get a lot of the product out when you near the end if it was in a bottle however I don't love the idea of such a large opening in my shower. #trywithtopbox #freeproduct

I was able to review this hair treatment masque as a #freeproduct through #trywithtopbox. My honest opinion is this. Seeing as I do use alot of high heat on my hair I was excited to try this. Pros: I was very surprised to find that the smell was not unpleasant or strong in any way as one of the highlighted ingredients is peppermint (which I am not a fan of in hair care products). Subtle smelling. Smells like shea butter body lotion. Very, very thick, solid consistency. Definitely helps to spread it through the hair with a brush. Cons: Honestly the mask didn't really do much. My hair did feel slick & sort of hydrated after but in my opinion there was no lasting effect after using this for a number of weeks now. It has a heavy almost putty-like consistency that sticks nicely to your head while you go about your showering routeen (aka wont blind you as you wear it while shaving your legs, GOOD STUFF), my hair feels soft and hydrated once rinsed out. If healthy has a feeling on wet hair, this stuff delivers that feeling. The smell is a comforting warm vanilla, slightly spicy when compared to the other products i have tried from this line, with a hint of Playdough, but still somehow yummy.
