I received the shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura oil intensive hydration conditioner for free to review in exchange for my honest review. My hair is damaged from dye and heat and this conditioner is definitely helping my hair turn back to a healthy, shinier look. I love how the bottle comes with a pump instead of just the closed cap. I'm still on my Shea Moisture black castor oil hair mask (I like it, but probably won't buy again as my hair is fine and even though it leaves it soft, it weighs it down a bit and I would prefer something lighter and then use a leave-in conditioner instead). A youtuber I think is great in terms of doing research and science-based recommendations, Abbey Yung has tested this and said that she liked and recommended it if I can remember correctly in a video of "drugstore" products' testing, so I'm sure this'll be great, but probably also a bit heavy on my fine hair. I used to have platinum hair and although it went through damage (because all bleach jobs do) it wasn’t compromised as bad at it could have been if I wasn’t using a masque almost every day. It’s great because you can use a tiny bit on your ends so you’re not having to have greasy roots on a day where you have to condition but can’t shampoo. But I heard also that they reformulated their product, but I can’t tell a difference. Honestly, I think they truly offer salon-quality results for so much cheaper! The smell is also very unique and amazing and leaves a subtle scent in my hair for days. This conditioner is like a lighter version of the Masque, which is nice to have because if I used the Masque every wash day, I think it would really over-hydrate my hair (that's a thing!). Leaving it in for 3-5 min before washing is my preferred method of application and only use about a pump/pump and a half slightly watered down just for my ends and clipped up for 3-5 min. My hair doesn't feel as dry as it used to and is for sure waaaaay softer. I shampoo and apply this, then comb through and sit under a steam cap. I've also used it as instructed (both ways are great - but I think the steam cap does give it a little more of a penetrative boost, you know). This leaves my hair feeling luscious!! The fragrance isn't overpowering. A little goes a long way (but of course, I don't heed that advice and want to drown my whole head in this) - but you really don't need a lot, even if you have a ton of hair.
