A good solid oil, 12.11 cst at 100 degrees celcius and has a very good cleaning additive package. Looking forward to seeing the oil analysis at 15k.

Shell Helix Ultra ETC C3 5W-30 is highly recommended for new diesel engines.It stays cleaner between services than the standard oil used at the dealer.and because it doesn't turn black after 3000km its less likely to block my oil catch can filter.

Used to be my one and only oil for my previous cars, until it got expensive. Have found other brands to be of similar if not slightly better quality. Stays clean for around 2,000kms and will try it again when its on special. 8 litres will cost you up to $50 more (two 5 litre bottles) than other synthetic oils that are just as good.

Has to be the best of its kind, use it in my Land Rover and engine is noticeably running better, as it says it did reduce internal friction indeed. Fuel consumption is dropped as well so overall it's not as pricey as you might think, as you will get the savings from using less fuel. I would strongly recommend this product. if it's on special when you see it then hurry up:)
Shell oils are a quality product used for many years on my Mercedes, I have tried other makers oils, always comeback to shell products, engines always run smoother and return good MPG,

I have used this oil in my 2011 VW Polo TDI and have been very happy with its performance. It is VW 504.00/507.00 approved, making it suitable for the DPF in this car, and the engine has been running quietly and smoothly, with zero oil usage for the last 8,000km. I plan to change the oil and oil filter every 10,000km for good measure, however I'm sure this oil would happily go the 15,000km suggested by VW Australia as its usual service interval. Considering the average price of VW 504.00/507.00 approved oils, this one is actually at the cheaper end of the market, yet I believe it is one of the best available.
