I've only just recently taken an interest again in fishing; I haven't dropped a line since I was a teenager, and only just now, 16 years later, has it caught my attention. Bought one to have in my car, just to have a break and was excited to have this, a great brand normally. First time fishing off the beach but near rocks, got snagged and the rod broke before the line that was provided on the reel. Feels very flimsy. Probably good for total sand though. But very disappointed as I decided on this over the other options that had lures etc at the same price. Just be aware of where you want to use it. Sand will hopefully be ok
Have taken the rod out several times and no issues. Reel seems pretty good quality and winds smoothly. The rod itself extends and retracts easily. Fits nicely into a small backpack. Would give 5 stars but think the rod construction in terms of material could be a little sturdier for the price point when compare to other telescopic combos on the market.

The rod and reel combo bought was great. The line you put on for it was just a nuisance. Absolutely ancient and broke almost every time on the knot pull. Should’ve just delivered it with no line instead of me losing a lure to find out you put wet paper for line on it and having to take it in for a re-spool.
No problems with the delivery. Unfortunately let down by the line weight. The rod is rated to 8 kg the reel to 10kg and was filled with 10 Kg, too heavy for the rod. The rod is promoted as general purpose so a line of 6kg would seem very appropriate. So I need to replace the line. Nonetheless would buy again.
This is an aesthetically pleasing and functional little rig. I bought it to make it easier for me to negotiate obstacles in and around skinny water and it does the job very nicely. I'm happy with my purchase. Quick delivery too so, excellent service to top off my very pleasant shopping experience at the Fishing Tackle Shop.
Bought 2 x 8ft with 6000 Hyperloop ReelFirst night of use I caught a small Cow Nose Ray off Soldiers Point & the combo worked well until the rod snapped cleaning through at the second extension - luckily the last guide was in place on the piece I was left holding to allow me to bring it to shore. l’d hate to see what would happen to the Shimano rod if a big fish was hooked. Bitterly disappointed & worried about the other one!
