I have fished this reel in the surf almost every day for the past month and a half. It has the typical shimano qualities and is very smooth. I have lost count on how many stripers I have caught with this reel and it has handled them well. For someone who fishes only a few times a month this is a great reel for the price. If you're a surf rat like me then you need an upgrade in the durability department

I love this reel, it's not to expensive, but it will do it's job and land big fish.
Looks and feels like a more expensive Shimano. Have not fished it yet but I expect my opinion will not change.
