I was happy when Shimano released this reel here in the States. I have to say, I was looking at purchasing a JDM version prior to it's release, but as most know, Shimano and other U.S. based brands won't touch their companies JDM products. It is extremely smooth, and reeling up from depth with a 400 or 500g jig and a fish, is not a problem. I'm waiting to see how well it works on large fish.
I purchased this reel to fish for tils fish and tuna. I only used it for Seabass just to see how it feels. IT FEELS GREAT.
