Good value for the price but not for serious mountain bike riding where rocks are concerned. Go for Deore or similar quality. Make sure jockey pulley screws are tight if buying and fitting this mech.

I bought this to replace another derailleur that was a Sram, I have Shimano Shifters, and they did not work with the Sram derailleur because of the pull tension thing or whatever. Shimano uses a 2:1 ratio, and Sram uses a 1:1 pull ratio. So I had to replace the derailleur yet again with this one, It is great, it shifts fast, it is easy to install and adjust, it works great, and it is very durable. I would totally recommend.

Great value. However, I found a few odd things, like the derailleur's pivot bolt is quite stiff; and, there is no groove for which the shifting cable can rest.
Bought it to replace a derailleur on a kids bike I got tired of bending back into place. Much better than the stock Tourney levels you see. The tolerances on 7/8/9 are also pretty liberal so not a tricky setup. Tips: Have enough cable and a good tool to cut it with. A Dremel actually works well if you dont have a set of quality dikes.
The RD feels more stable and stiff during trail rides. The long cage really helps me shift from hard gears to easy gears within a fraction of moment without making those rattling noise.
Came in perfect condition, all boxed up for protection against damage. And no doubt, It's genuine Shimano product. The derailleur M370 really does it's job
Order process was simple and delivery quick.I had added a 4th pedal sprocket to add to a higher ratio to 28 speeds. The longer arm worked perfectly. Indexing is smooth and sharp. easy to adjust.
It is a good product, it came well pre greased and works ok, you don't need to bake a finger trying to shift moves across the cassette well. Came fairly fast and ok packaged. Strange cable routing on it.
replaced my deore 9 speed with the altus, easy to fit and set up and it has transformed the shifting from vague to precise and stabledecent price and easy to fit and set up
