I bought these to replace a pair of Shimano XC1 MTB shoes that I had used for gravel riding. It is a challenge for me to get a decent fit because my toes are wide and my heels are narrow. The Shimano shoes do a pretty good job of having a toe box that is wide enough without the heel being too loose. The RX6 shoes fit pretty well like my old XC1 shoes. I had not had shoes with BOA dials before, but the BOAs work pretty well. I will have to wait and see how durable the dials are. The only negative thing I have to say is that the lugs on the soles of the RX6 shoes seems harder and less grippy than the lugs on my old XC1 shoes. If I was doing more difficult gravel riding where I had to get off and frequently hoof it, I think I would opt for a cross-country MTB shoe. The TPU outsoles feel slippery and unstable on hard surfaces and tend to feel like I may slip or twist my ankle. A huge no-no, if you are looking at these, go find some with rubber studs/lugs, like the XC's. Also, the cleats clatter like crazy when you walk in them, because the studs/lugs are too short to cover the metal, which is a huge bummer. I'm sure these aren't nearly as bad for walking, as some road shoes, but they are still bad. A huge disappointment. For riding they are great, but I wanted shoes I could walk in more or less comfortably and quietly.

Purchased these as already have some RX8's and admittedly was expecting a slightly lesser product in terms of weight and performance but to be fine for everyday usage. How wrong I was, they are a top quality shoe, very comfortable and with a sole that although slightly lower on Shimano's stiffness scale was not notably any less so than the RX8's.Would happily recommend these to anyone wanting a shoe that performs but also with all day comfort.

Was looking for the perfect gravel bike shoe and I found it! Shimano comes with an amazing reputation for quality products and customer service(that I hope I never have to use). These shoes fit perfect right out of the box, were able to be adjusted for my two screw clips, and overall feel very secure with the boa closure. Not to mention they look amazing and have great grip when just walking around. Starting to put miles on these shoes but so far this is one of the best gravel bike pieces I’ve bought in a while.
These shoes felt great the second I put them on. They fit great and are noticeably light. Easy to put and get off because of the shape of the tongue and length of the cord for the boa thing. Seems like they'll be durable too. Could have spent way more on other brands, so very happy.
Bought two sizes, ended up sizing up. They’re a nice fit at the heel with a good grip. Rigid enough but not uncomfortable to walk in. Changed the insoles for some with arch support but weren’t uncomfortable with the standard insoles. Would recommend for the price.
I love the way they feel and the close contact to the bike. The are great except:I am used to me 20 year old Shimano bike shoes which have a non slip rubber like sole. These RX6's have a slippery plastic sole. When trying to get quickly on the bike, my the shoes slip off the pedals. My shin is bloody from several pedal hits from slipping off. There is no more jumping onto the bike and get going fast. But once clipped in, they are the best bike shoes I ever had.
I wear a size 15 shoe and thank god Shimano has this! Feet like a glove and actually has some room in the toe box! So far is comfortable, breathable and looks good! I also have a wide foot and no issues, the BOA system is also a plus. Would buy again.
I use these for road cycling, and would recommend these. They are stiff, but I can walk around in them because of the raised tread. However, the cleats still hit the pavement and after 30 miles, my black metal cleats are now showing the bare metal in the tip of the cleat. Still better than SPD-SL shoes.
