Mate, if i could take this reel & my trusty old rod with me to heaven i would, i caught some nice whiting off it- on my first use!! Slick, fast & very smooth is how I'd describe this reel, perfect for estry & river fishing. Excellent value.

I got this reel to go with my heavier stiffer rod that I mainly use for bouncing plastics for flathead or metal lures for pelagic species. Found it to be a good match and balance to the rod. Reel has a smooth drive, easily adjustable drag and good retrieve speed. Casts well to with line spooling off nicely.

I have several Sedonas,1000 series,4000 and 5000series, I have used them in fresh and salt water and they have always performed perfectly,I have recently purchased the 2500 series and I am really pleased with the quality of the finish and feel of the reel, I am confident of a long trouble free life of these new reels. Highly recommend them.

Matched the reel with an ABU Garcia Veritas. 10lb braid. Great for flicking soft plastics
I bought the 4000 size Sedona and loved it so much that I bought the 2500 size as well. The 4000 size is my go-to reel for beach fishing and I've caught some big Australian Salmon and Tailor with it. I use the 2500 size mainly for lure fishing in the estuaries and occasionally the beach too. It's a real easy-casting reel and very durable. I've owned them for a few years now and they've seen their fair share of sand, saltwater and other contaminants but they're still going strong ! p.s. love the gold colour
Actually dissapointed by the reel and Shimano's decision to ommit a feature I have always found to be standard and essential on a reel, the antireverse switch. Not only is backwinding a great way to play fish on light tackle, removing the ability to back wind to adjust the length of line out to cast a lure etc or when teaching beginners is also frustrating, particularly on very light lines where hand pulling the line is never an attractive option. Also, to set the clutch light enough to comfortabley avoid breakage on light lines on strike, often means the reel slips on strike thus preventing effective hook hold.BCF however did a great job in getting it too me!
It’s a nice reel, but for the first time in my (very long) fishing career, I’ve bought a reel that doesn’t have an anti-reverse switch. If you like to be able to let out a bit of line without pulling it off the reel don’t buy this reel. It’s my fault for assuming that every reel that costs a bit has an anti-reverse lever.
Great reel for the money, super smooth and has a nice feel for fishing plastics!
Over the years I have puchased numerous shimano reels a lately I have purchased five Sedonas which are all matched to Shimano Raider series rods. These are used for everything from live bait fishing to flicking plastics to catching whiting and bream. Could not be happier with these products.
This is such a great Reel and with the 10lb braid it casts like a dream. Spent a weekend walking up the Goulburn and was casting all day long and laded a few dozen Trout. This reel never missed a beat and its lightweight design meant that I hardly got tired of casing.
