Do not buy anything from these cowboys!I bought a Shimano FC-TY501 Shimano Tourney 7/8 Speed Chainset from these guys. 5 months later, it fails, threaded, despite being professionally fitted by a mechanic I trust.Tredz are claiming the fault could only have occured by incorrect fitting - really? Even with riding with them for 5 months doing 85-100km per week? Seems like a stretch guys.You've got no chance if something goes wrong. They are a disgrace to the cycling fraternity.Fortunately, both Comsumer Advice Scotland and trading standards are helping us to get justice.Waste of time and money. Customer service is abyssmal, rude and obstructive. Very poor guys - must do better.

Ordered this for a project commuter bike. Fast fulfillment and shipping, and honestly cheaper than a lot of options on Craigslist. Came in original high quality Shimano packaging. NOTE: this crankset takes a square taper bottom bracket with at least a 122.5 spindle length. Pick one of those up if needed otherwise the cranks may rub on the frame.
The delivery was very smooth. I was notified of the whereabouts of product every step of the delivery. The packaging was great as well, no damage to the box or product whatsoever. The cranks feel very sturdy and the teeth of the chairing are well designed, no hiccups in it's operation at all. I have a 7 speed freewheel and the gearing ratios are good enough for city roads and light offroad riding. It provides good range for climbs and descents and it works perfectly well with a Shimano Tourney front derailleur, provided that it's adjusted properly. Overall, it was a good purchase for my purpose paired with a great purchase experience.
Some of the other reviews refer to bottom brackets or derailleurs; to clarify, this is for the Tourney 28-38-48 crankset.This is entry-level equipment, a riveted crankset, and sells for about half the price of a part with removable chainrings. As such, a good application would be on a bike where cost is an object and a little extra weight is not a problem.The crankset installed easily (it pairs with a 122.5mm bottom bracket spindle) and derailleur adjustments were uncomplicated. It's a good choice at reasonable cost and should last for many years if not abused. The plastic chainguard is easily removed.
