Shimano XTR disc brake calliper features cutting edge braking technology, providing lightweight and powerful braking. The 4-pot hydraulic disc brake calliper has a post-style design with 4 ceramic pistons optimized for heat insulation and stiffness. Its opposed 4-piston design reduces leading effect and optimizes pad wear, increasing braking control. The super lightweight forged design increases rigidity and reduces weight. This calliper can be used with a choice of adapters and rotors, giving you the freedom to customize and suit your bike. It's recommended for use with Ice Tech Center Lock rotors for optimum braking performance in 160 mm, 180 mm, and 203 mm sizes. The calliper can also be used with Ice Tech pads available in resin or sintered compound, with the optional aluminium radiation fin pad further improving heat dissipation and reducing brake surface temperature by 50 degrees Celsius. The one way oil bleeding system improves oil routing, and the calliper uses mineral oil brake fluid. It features a Shim-less mounting system and a banjo style attachment for neat hose alignment. The calliper comes with N04C sintered pads with fins.

Upgraded from Slx M700 to this..modulation is so much better with the Xtr and tons more power, running it with Xt levers on my Commencal Meta TR Improved confidence equals more speed right. Awesome sale price as well

Absolutely love the new XTR's from Shimano! Huge upgrade from my Code RE's. Good modulation and amazing stopping power. Quad pistons is the way to go. From flowy trails to big mountain days, I feel way more confident with the added stopping power. I HIGHLY recommend the XTR's if you're looking to upgrade your braking system. Not to mention that look great on my Megatower!

Using the M9120 brake calipers in the front and rear. The four piston calipers work a lot better than the stock two piston calipers. Greater for a class 3 Trek Super Commuter+8s E-Bike. These are the calipers that should have come stock with the bike. Tried the metallic and resin pads. I would recommend the resin pads for city riding.

I’ve been using this brake on my Orbea Occam M10. Such a great upgrade from XT. Stopping power is so tremendously great. Quite a bit pf money but it’s all worth it. Bought this here at Jenson, very fast shipping with this guys. Thanks
Bottom Line Up Front: I've ridden a good amount of bikes and love renting other bikes and demoing (usually at the XT/X01 level) just to change things up - none of the demos/rentals, friends bikes, or other bikes between my fiance have had brakes that are as good as these!Wanted to ride these for awhile before reviewing, and have been running these for a year now and absolutely love them! Awesome stopping power on demand that's easily controllable, plus they just look SO GOOD! I have the metal pads on these (haven't tried resin in this setup) with 180f/160r rotors and weigh 200lbs. I've always preferred Shimano over Sram brakes because I feel like there's more modulation, and these def follow that. Hope brakes tend to lack modulation in my experience, as well. But these XTRs will stop/slow you down however much you want.I also like that parts can be integrated into these clamps (your dropper and shifter levers) and have a Shimano dropper lever for my Fox Transfer running off the same clamp, for a cleaner handlebar. Other brakes/brands have the same feature, but thought I'd mention it, regardless.I'll go ahead and say that these (keep in mind I've only ridden them with metal pads) howl if they get wet and a few of my mechanic buddies joke around about that being "typical Shimano" but the braking power never goes down. I also may have experienced the "Shimano wandering lever" for about two weeks, and while waiting for a bleed kit to come in the mail, it disappeared, leading me to believe it was just an air bubble trapped in there, somewhere, so I'm not marking them down for that. I think the only negative about these may be the price, but if you don't wanna shell out this much, XT apparently offers basically the same performance (XT wasn't an option when I bought these).Overall, no complaints, except when I'm riding a bike that DOESN'T have XTR 4-pots...
Tried and true the best MTB brakes. Major upgrade from the SLX that came stock on my Stumpjumper. The XTRs have great modulation and feel. The stock SLX were on or off. I have 400 miles on these and no fuss. Much better than SRAM which need bleeding seems like all the time.
I'm running them on 2 of my MTB bikes, there are no better MTB brakes than XTRs. Sram is absolute trash comparing to that. I've replaced Sram brakes on top BMC full suspension bike with those
I have been riding guides and probably been using them for a bit more than they are designed. I really wanted Saints but got sick of waiting. Got the XTR's on recommendation from a friend and am very happy. I weight 100kg plus gear and these provide great braking on some very steep and rocky terrain. Two things that i wish were different:- They don't come with the hose gripping blocks that online videos say they do which makes putting the barb in hard without the proper tool.- I ride black bike with Fox Factory suspension. These would look nicer on the bike if they were black. I know i'm going to get hate for this.
Old xtr caliper piston leak, so had to get another one . Shipping was fast , product is great . A lot of modulation and stopping power
To the other poster, you CAN buy replacement pistons. The company that has a smile logo has a kit that includes the 15.1mm piston. Works fine.
