Disappointed

I sized up the band as recommended, which made everything too big. The band was already at the tightest setting to even attempt to make it work. The straps were too long and had minimal ability to adjust (this is a theme I see in sports bras).. Ultimately no way this would work for high impact for a large chest. Back to the drawing board: I may end up looking for old style compression bras and wearing multiple.

Disappointing, just doesn't do the job.

I have needed a non-wired sports bra for a while, and according to the item description, this fitted my needs (HIIT workouts). As per Bravissimo advice, I went up a band size. However, this bra has been disappointing. The band size is too big and I've had to use the smaller clips from the start. Also, as per other reviewer findings, the shoulder straps have barely any adjustment room, so they are too big on the shoulders.Lastly, there us very little support in the cup area. I chose this bra due to it's compression claims, however, although I have a large chest (36G as measured by Bravissimo), my boobs just aren't as firm as they were, and there is not enough support or compression upon jumping or running movements.

My boobs are somewhere between 12G and 10H depending on the brand. So they're heavy, awkward, usually getting elbowed, and make far too much contact with cupboard doors accidentally. They also sublux (partially dislocate) my ribs if left unrestrained for too long.I had recently purchased a Shock Absorber Active D+ Classic that was Very Good but the bottom band has a tendency to roll up on itself after about 6hrs wear, and ends up tooth-flossing my ribs which is not ideal and quite painful.I noticed the different closure for this model and figured it was worth trying to see if it behaved differently. The only downside to this closure design is that if you're not flexible or hypermobile, you might need someone else's assistance to get all strapped in. Or maybe you've got smaller boobs and can wriggle in and out? I know I can't.Both models of the Shock Absorber bras hold my ******* in against my chest firmly, I feel very supported and secure while wearing them. The straps sit nice and high on my shoulders, closer to my collarbone where the muscles can take the load. Excellent design, easily the best non-wired bras in my experience so far.

Multi Sports Support Bra

Have purchased SA Sports Bras for over twenty years.Comfortable to wear, though this one did feel a lot tighter on than previous purchases, despite sizing up. Recommend checking their fit guide video before purchasing as based on the info on that my latest purchase is at least a size too small, alternatively find a decent sports shop and try on some sister sizes before making a decision. There are two band straps with hook and eye which make it fiddly to put on in place and have had to connect straps around waist then spin it round and then pull up and on, not ideal, the snap clip upper strap ones are much easier to fasten behind your back.Fabric is nice against the skin and so far has not faded or discoloured - though it's only done ten hours work and one wash ... MoreHave purchased SA Sports Bras for over twenty years.Comfortable to wear, though this one did feel a lot tighter on than previous purchases, despite sizing up. Not for me
24 February 2024

I really liked the look of this bra and then I tried getting it on. Bit of a faff with the 2 sets of hooks and I could only get it fastened up by having it facing the wrong way and then turning it round and wriggling into the straps. Thank goodness I took other buyers' advice about going up a back size as I don't think I would have got it on at all. Didn’t really like the shape it gave my bust but it is very supportive once you've winched yourself in, however after a while the underband started to roll up, not very comfortable. Getting it off? Don't get me started!!

Ok - not great
15 May 2024

I have found the bra looks nice and is stylish but when I go running, the boobs do bounce more than I like. I have other (cheaper) bras where i get little to no bounce. I think the issue is that the straps barely tighten. They have very short tightening slider bit and I am quite petite on the shoulders so I normally tighten all the way and I am disappointed that a sports bra is so limited. I would not buy again.

Shock Absorber Multi Sports Support Bra - Pink Tie Dye
13 August 2023

Been wearing this style for years for running. They offer rock solid support for all distances - I'm a 32D and 5ft 6.I wouldn't wear alone as a "crop top" - it looks like a bra and doesn't have huge coverage, but that's personal comfort level.I find the best way to put on due to the two sets of back hooks, is to put on around the waist inside out, do up the top hook and then twizzle around and do up the bottom hook. Not suitable for anyone with restricted shoulder mobility. The cut is great for me. Holds everything close, straps can be adjusted - might not be suitable for anyone very tall as they don't lengthen that much. Cut relatively high so no cleavage.I keep mine for years and wash frequently. Eventually I notice that I start to get chafing, which is a ... MoreBeen wearing this style for years for running. Super comfy and supportive
14 July 2024

I'm really happy with this bra. I asked for a non-wired that is very supportive bra for running, and the staff member suggested this one. I loved it, but couldn't fasten it myself because it has two very tough sets of hooks at the back. I nearly gave up, but the staff member suggested fastening the top two hooks and pulling the bra on over my head, and it worked perfectly! I'm so pleased as this is a very comfortable bra and great for high-impact sports like running.

amazing product

i've heard many people praise shock absorber bras so i was intrigued to see if they were worth the purchase. i normally wear a 34D but was advised to go a band up, which i'm really thankful i did! this bra fits very very snugly to your chest in order to protect it. i like the way the bra looks, and it was thrilling to be able to run and jump and whatever without having to hold my chest or feel pain (which i have been used to for years T_T). all in all a very good purchase :)

I ordered one size up in the back, as this was strongly recommended on the website and in reviews. In my case this meant that the band around my ribs was not tight enough and therefore the whole point was lost, of holding my boobs still while running.Additionally I had not really focussed while ordering on whether the sports bra was wired or not. I focussed on the fact that this bra is 'maximum impact' and marketed as suitable for running, horse riding or the gym- it sounded suitable for running if you are a GG sized woman. In reality when I tried it on the lack of underwriting meant that basically the boobs are squashed to the chest, and also squashed together, with no shape and no definition. The feeling of my boobs being squashed together like that made me feel sweaty and uncomfortable - and that was just standing still!I tried various tops on with the sports bra and this confirmed my bad feeling - I looked massive, barrel shaped and with the bra not feeling tight enough around the ribs I would not have attempted running in this bra. A sports bra may not be 'lingerie' and not the most sexy item ever.... but I still want to feel attractive in it.
