I bought the adult ones about a year ago because my previous ones were worn down and super old. I thought Shockdoctor being a supposedly reputable brand, that their gum shields would do a good job. I was very wrong and ended up wasting my money because obviously these can't be returned or exchanged. These being the ones that mold to your teeth as well no just the gumline, you essentially only get 1 go at molding them. After following the instructions I put them In my mouth, I noticed immediately that they were too small and just wouldn't yield even for an adult version. They were then obviously stuck in that position because the teeth mold would be unlikely to move again in a well enough manner so I up them straight into the bin. I was foolish enough to buy another pair of a different version which is cheaper but only molded to the gumline, not teeth. When I looked at the case I actually thought that they were the ones I bought before. I bought them just to clear any doubt in my mind about following the instructions properly or not. Bad news again for different reasons. Waste of money twice.

My teenage son used this mouthguard for sports and it works great. The instructions are easy and the guard itself is easy to out in and easy to breathe with it as well. It definitely does the job! My son said it felt very comfortable!

I went into the store in Buford, Ga and worked with the sales associate to find the best mouthguard for my small 8 year old. He recommended this product to us. The packaging says 10 and under. We boiled the mouthguard and followed the instructions perfectly. This thing is tiny. It would fit a 4 year old but no child with 6 year molars could fit it. I assumed it would expand when it boiled but it didn’t. Nowhere on the packaging does it tell you how to check fil before boiling it. I called the store explained the situation that they helped me pick it out, the packaging says 10 and under and it doesn’t fit. I asked for an exchange to try and adult size and they said they couldn’t because it had been boiled already. My kid wanted a flavored mouthguard so I got him this one. After one week, the flavor gel is destroyed, there’s barely any protection for his teeth. I had to throw it away and go buy him a better one. I don’t like the lack of protection and seeing how easily this mouth guard could be destroyed.
I am an adult male and the package said it was for an adult so I bought it. When I got it home I took it out of the package and before putting it in the hot water I decided to see what kind of feel it had. It was very small. I thought maybe after heating it up to the recommended temperature and do a teeth press with it hoping it would expand and conform to my mouth but that didn't happen. It was still too small and I threw it away.
Gross!! The taste was like soap!!! We just bought tonight fro my hs son game tomorrow. He thought it might help his mouth not get so dry with it having flavor. (We used to always buy the blue raspberry in youth fb). This was gross and tastes like straight soap!! Now he can’t wear it and we wasted twenty dollars. So upsetting.
I bought this mouthguard as I participate in a high contact sport and it looked like a more advanced version of what I already had, it was also more expensive so I again assumed it would be a better product but I quickly learnt that wasn't the case when I attempted the fitting procedure.I am a 20 year old male so I purchased the "adult" size. I attempted three times to fit the mouth guard following the exact prosedure of the guide provided with the product and it didn't even get close to moulding to my teeth properly. The material was to firm so I again attempted for a fourth time leaving it in the boiling water for a lot longer then shown in the guide. I was still faced with the same issue the material wast soft enough and would not let me sink my teeth in far ... MoreI bought this mouthguard as I participate in a high contact sport and it looked like a more advanced version of what I already had, it was also more expensive so I again assumed it would be a better product but I quickly learnt that wasn't the case when I attempted the fitting procedure.I am a 20 year old male so I purchased the "adult" size. The mouthguard is super uncomfortable and it doesn’t stay fit. The size should be fine according to the instructions.Unfortunately I can’t return it since we opened it to try it.Total waste of my money!!!
It smells amazing! Son hasn't complained it's flavoured. My only concern is that despite following instructions ourselves by time son put it in his mouth to mouth the mouthguard he didn't quite manage it well enough that the gel isn't exactly around his teeth well (some appears he bit down to the main piece itself). I know you could re model it again using hot water etc but not when some of the gel went over the side really. It also seems quite large in his mouth although his 13 and we bought the right type then as per label. We have purchased another and trying again... Or am considering that next footy season we opt for one made by the dentist.
I'm here to offset the 4 and under reviews. I had two of these. my first one fit wrong because I messed it up. it was uncomfortable and fell apart. I did the next one properly and have used it for kickboxing for 10 years now. my teeth are still beautiful. less than 5 stars = user error.
