The support and fit of this were fine. However, after wearing the brace for a few hours I began to feel pain and itching near the top front edge. There is a small square label there that is bonded to the inside of the brace. It caused a reaction that is almost like a chemical burn. I don’t know what that label is made of but I will be returning the brace to the store where I purchased it.

I needed a knee brace for support and to prevent further injury. I tried on several to replace the one I owned that has 6 elastic Velcro straps. That one is difficult to put on in such a way that the Velcro does come into contact with your skin. This Shock Doctor model has a completely different design that eliminates that problem. It’s a little more difficult to slide up over your knee but that’s because it provides superior support. I’ve been wearing it for over two weeks and love it!

This is an effective knee brace; however it would be nicer if it had bands that crossed the bottom on the knee (similar to a Level 3 brace). So maybe I'm looking for a Level 2.5 brace. I have a torn ACL and I can still exercise a bit with the extra support. This brace is comfortable and fits well for me when I roll lightly at BJJ or work out at the gym.

I sprained my LCL training Jiu-Jitsu. It's quite painful and makes it difficult to walk. The shock doctor knee brace provides support and comfort, such that my knee doesn't hurt while I'm wearing it. I have worn this knee brace while working in my lawn mowing and landscaping business, also on a recent hike. Without this brace I probably wouldn't have been able to continue working.
This is my second pair. The first pair was retired prematurely when some of the flex stays broke in half where they flexed constantly. After disassembling that set, I decided I could alter the way I wear and remove them to put less stress in the weak area of the stays. We'll see. I do wish the shape of the brace was more like an hourglass, giving more compression directly at the joint relative to the adjustment bands. Overall, a good, stout brace for the money.
I have gone through several knee braces recently to keep me on the court after a medial meniscus tear, and this Shock Doctor has been my favorite by far. I love that it is a combination of compression sleeve with stabilizing bars on the sides. It is extremely well constructed and a real plus that it has dedicated velcro straps for a customized fit, and the velcro attaches to itself, rather than onto the neoprene fabric of the brace. When velcro attaches to neoprene, it makes the neoprene extremely fuzzy, which not only looks terrible, but causes the neoprene to fray and eventually the velcro will not attach to it after a little bit of time. The only negative to this knee brace is that you can't just throw it into the washing machine, as it needs to be hand washed. ... MoreI have gone through several knee braces recently to keep me on the court after a medial meniscus tear, and this Shock Doctor has been my favorite by far. There must be some kind of antibacterial properties to this brace, however, as it takes an extremely long time before it needs a wash.Overall, this is an excellent knee brace. It is highly supportive without being bulky. I tried some other braces that were hinged and they felt like you had a heavy apparatus on your leg. This Shock Doctor brace has great support, but isn't noticeable from a weight perspective. It stays in place and doesn't need to be adjusted, so I barely notice it while playing tennis. Highly recommend!
I’ve been nursing a minor knee tweak and my doctor finally gave me the green light to climb again as long as I wear this brace. My initial concerns were 1: Would this brace give me enough support? And 2) Will it be flexible enough and allow enough mobility to make my moves? It only took a few sessions to answer answer those questions. The brace is extremely stable, even at a “Level 2”, and does not hinder any movement while climbing. I don’t have big legs so I went with a small since the compression around the knee and patella felt best at this size. Be sure to take measurements and fit to that size if you’re unsure. I’ve seen a few people buy them too big and their knee just floats around inside the sleeve between the two straps. I’ll definitely be buying another once I chew through this one.
Knee stabiliser is excellent quality. Make sure to order size larger than anticipated. I ordered XXL and I'm not a huge guy, fits very firm. Support is great. The straps a bit closer to knee would be ideal. Thank you. Yes a recommend product, much better than the ones you find in the chemist.
I had a pair of these for many years, to wear playing ice hockey (aging knees and all that). After they finally began to come apart, I looked for replacements, and here they are! Just like the originals, and they provide the support my knees need. I'm a petite woman, but the size small works find since they are adjustable.
I have to wear knee braces daily due to ailing knees. So after my knee arthroscopic surgery, I was told by my doctor to get a knee stabilizer for recovery on the left knee. Since I’m too young for knee replacements. Yes both knees are bad. So I bought 2 of them for overall support. I bought them a week ago. Already the stitching is falling apart on the opening of the knee holes See pictures below. Lost the foam part of the middle already. And also torn the strap of one by pulling them up. Luckily I had some strong thread that I was able to sew the strap back on.I like the overall support other than the stitching falling apart after 1 week.Would I recommend these knee bracesUmm... for overall comfort they are doing its job for support.
