Sidi Genius 10 Road Shoes - Black/Grey 47
The Sidi Genius 10 is an ideal all-round road bike shoe for men that has seen significant improvements compared to its predecessor. The Carbon Composite 20 sole is a high quality, carbon fiber reinforced nylon sole that provides great comfort to the entire foot. In addition, the addition of carbon ensures that the sole is extremely strong, so that every pedal stroke results in an optimal power transmission. The Tecno-3 closure system provides an ergonomic shoe closure over the entire length of the foot. Even when cycling, this fit is easy and quick to adjust. The Comfort Fit insole has a memory effect, which means that the sole can remember and preserve the position of the foot. This makes pressure points in specific places thinner or thicker, resulting in a great comfort for your foot. In short, are you looking for a high quality road bike shoe with an extremely sturdy sole that is easy to adjust? Then the Sidi Genius 10 is the perfect choice for you.

I've been using Sidi shoes for over 30 years and am glad to say they haven't changed the fit at all; they still fit like they were custom made for me. I currently have four pairs (I use 3 different cleat systems on my various bikes) now that I have these new Genius 10 shoes. These are replacing another pair of Sidi Genius shoes that are now about 15 years old. The old ones are still fine, but I wanted to try a newer model with the BOA closure. The good thing about Sidis is that the various parts are easily replaceable. I've done this with the buckles/straps on one older pair that I have.

I've got a few hundred miles on these shoes. Fit is true to size, and plenty of toe/forefoot room, which is exactly what I was looking for to replace some custom-made road shoes that I eventually 'grew out of'. I like the retention system (Boa-like, but not true Boa as described on the webpage), the softness of the uppers, the overall looks. There's one down-side if you're looking for a really stiff sole: the sole is carbon-injected, not a true full carbon sole. If you're a sprinter and really put power to the pedals, this may be a drawback. But if you're a fast recreational cyclists who doesn't really sprint, I doubt you'll find the sole to be an issue. I sure don't. Giving 4 stars because of the sole issue, otherwise for me personally, it gets at least 4.5 stars. ... MoreI've got a few hundred miles on these shoes. Couldn’t be happier!! A great price for a fantastic road shoe with Sigma’s usual excellent service and discount. The Sidi Genius 10 road shoes are the most comfortable and stylish shoes I’ve had. I am usually a 7 UK size but went half a size up and the fit is perfect. I previously had Fizik shoes which are also good for smaller, slightly slender feet. But Sidi sizing and fit shaping is way superior. The construction, materials quality and design of the shoe is very high and I can easily imagine wearing these in 5-10 years time AND you can buy replacement parts for likely wear and tear areas such as heal and dial system. The Sidi dial system itself works well - I’ve seen review comments that prefer the Boas system suggesting this is a weakness of all Sidi shoes. I ... MoreCouldn’t be happier!! Boas dials can be easily adjusted on the fly through an over shoe when worn in winter whereas the Sidi dial system don’t really allow this.2. There are lighter shoes for the money. Personally I prefer a composite sole to a completely stiff carbon one. Comfort trumps weight in my book. (313g for Size 45).3. These aren’t cheap but the quality of workmanship on offer here is exceptional and I imagine these will easily outlast all other shoes under £200 making them good value for money in the longer term.4. Smaller Italian fitting means Sidi shoes in general are unlikely to be a good match for those with large, wide feet.Buy them if you are undecided - you won’t regret it.

I often heard how great and comfortable Sidi, shoes were. I logged less than 200 miles on them and they were just not comfortable! Nothing good to say about this shoe except I liked the color! I should have stayed with my S Works! Head and shoulders more comfortable!
So I thought that it was time to get some new shoes. When I started serious cycling, Miguel Indurain was winning the TdF and wore Genius 1's. If it was good enough for him...so I had a couple of pairs of them and then moved onto Genius 2's. Over the years I found that I couldn't afford new shoes every year and then with less cycling (more work-less play) I just didn't buy any new cycling shoes. Those Genius 2's kept going and going which proves how well Sidi shoes are made. (and they still have some life in them yet)So when I came to buy some new shoes they had to be Sidi because of the fit and quality of manufacture. (and they still have some life in them yet)So when I came to buy some new shoes they had to be Sidi because of the fit and quality of manufacture. I bought the dayglow green ones and gosh aren't they bright. A fashion tip though is to always wear these with matching dayglow green socks (Sigma - are you paying attention? We need matching socks.). Over the years Sidi have improved the Genius shoe with sensible upgrades while retaining the quality. I tried these out on a couple of long rides (about 3 to 4 hours) and found them very comfortable and easier to adjust on the go than the old G2's. I like to loosen my shoe slightly on the flat and then tighten for hills and sprints and the fastening system gave a nice even support when tight or loose. There was no pinching or blisters indicating good attention to finish internally and the soles gave a very firm support. (I am running these with Look cleats) with little to no flexing ( I thought that these were stiffer than G'2's but this was reassuring not uncomfortable) so you get to more feel through the shoe and better transmission. They are well ventilated and I didn't feel a chill on any fast descents. I see the next model up has a vent in the toe and wonder what this would be like to ride.So a great shoe and up to the standard that I expect from Sidi.
These are great shoes, nice stiff soles and feel really sturdy. They weren’t particularly comfortable out of the box due to some seams and stitching around the inside of the toe box but feel much better after a couple of rides.I’d originally bought the SIDI Prima in my correct size but they were too small so sent them back in favour of the Genius in a larger size so bear that in mind. They were expensive but all of the adjustable parts are replaceable so I’m confident that they will last a fair few seasons.
I've ridden Sidi shoes for years. The Genius 10 is my current model. I have put in over 15000 miles with these shoes and have no complaints. The closure system has worked flawlessly. My feet are almost flat so I used Specialized Blue foot beds in place of the Sidi inserts. I had to replace the heel pads last year. Sidi makes an awesome cycling shoe!
Purchased these to replace a 20 year old pair that finally gave up the ghost. The buckle system broke at the plastic attachment point. These new pair with the Boas are a big improvement on my old pair with the buckle and velcro system. The shoes fit like a glove and are extremely comfortable. Sidi are my go to manufacturer for cycling shoes and motorcycle boots. The quality is always top notch and the comfort is always superb. Something about Italian shoes I suppose. Highly recommended.
Ordered the 43.5 which uses the same footplate as the 43. I wear a 8.5 UK and 9/9.5 North American sizing. Anyway, they fit like gloves and are by far the most comfortable shoes I've owned. Even if I crank up the tightness, they remain comfortable and do not pinch anywhere. Don't know what they'd be like on a hot day but worked very well on both a 6 degree and 10 degree weather start. The styling is brilliant as is the build quality.
