I have had several visits to zoos since owning this lens, and some natural exposure in National Parks. This lens has surprised me with it's ability to take great sharp images. Wide open, it removed the visible mesh on lion and tiger enclosures to give a clear image of the animals. It also seems to have good control in bright lighting. Several pictures of birds flying overhead at high ISO have remained very sharp.
