Optically this lens is great. It's very sharp, has good color rendition, and things like vignetting and chromatic abberation are very well controlled. YouTube videos will do a better job of giving details about the optics. The quirks come in with the handling. It is a fairly compact lens but feels heavier than it looks because of the all metal build. The reason for this (at least on my S5) is that turning the aperture ring and twisting the lens on to the camera are both done with a clockwise motion. For me I love shooting at 50mm and I think I would prefer to shoot closer to that focal length but at the time this is the only affordable prime option for L-mount (except for the 45mm f2.8 but I'm not sure why anyone would want a f2.8 prime lens). Last thing I will comment on is the focusing. This lens focuses quickly but I have noticed that my Lumix 16-35 f4 focuses much faster. For that reason I look forward to when Panasonic releases their 50mm f1.8, but for now this lens will do fine.

I was using the Sony 55mm lens and though it is a great lens and very sharp, it is becoming a little bit dated. I actually prefer the Sigma lens more. True the Sony is a faster lens, but for my uses, the f2 on the sigma works just fine. Plus, I love how compact it is. My small traveling kit is now the Sony 20mm f/1.8 G lens, the Sigma 65mm and the Sigma 90mm. Very small and excellent quality. Use them on my Sony a 7riii.

I been looked Vogtlander 65 mm or sigma 65 mm but f/2 only ,$150 lower price then sigma only f/2 , Viltrox 75 mm more close to subject Mighty F/1.2 viltrox is marveles Lens only little better on Leica's 75 mm $10000 super expensive 75 mm lens. ,never buy Leica lens German product are same as England automobile price . ,.wiil get Wotan craft 7 liter pilot. Shoulder bag $170 only , China product are getting better nowadays , 75 mm Viltrox. Youtube review are excellent result they said , best 75 mm history of photography last 150 years . I ll get Viltrox 75 mm soon .
