Many who wanted but didn't manage to get their hands on, the short-lived Black edition of the SuperPista will be relieved that Silca have introduced the SuperPista Digital. Like all SuperPista pumps, the quality and performance of the SuperPista Digital is unmatched in the industry. The addition of the top-mounted Digital gauge is a welcome addition to the range and has been a sought after feature for some time. This third generation Silca SuperPista combines all the handcrafted elements which have made SuperPista the go-to pump of the ProTour for more than 30 years, with their two most mechanic and consumer requested features; a high accuracy digital gauge, and a gauge readout located at the top of the barrel for easier reading. Like the SuperPista Ultimate, the SuperPista Digital features the company's Side lcking Hiro v3 Lever that offers superb attachment to your valves for secure and efficient inflation. In addition, Silca have relocated the Chuck and hose assembly. A first for SILCA pumps, the new generation SuperPista uses a top-mount hose design with a top mount magnetic chuck dock. This puts the chuck right at the hands of the user reducing back strain and eliminates bending over to access or store the chuck - good news for those tight hamstrings. Silca have also created an oversized base. The lightweight aluminium base offering over twice the stability of other designs while still being optimised for use with cycling shoes. The lathe turned Ash handle is a geometric copy of the SuperPista Ultimate handle and provides the unrivalled comfort and ergonomics. Built more like a suspension fork than a traditional pump, the SuperPista Digital combines a full metal shock piston design with the classic Italian leather plunger washer and German Igus linear bearings to create the highest efficiency, smoothest running SuperPista to date.

Overall, I'm impressed with the SuperPista. The digital gauge is easy to read and I like the auto-on feature. The backlight is also useful as I mostly train indoors in a darkened room, so not having to turn on the light to pump my tires, is a bonus. The pumping action is also nice, though stiffer than I expected. I've only used it for a couple months, so maybe it'll get smoother with usage. The base is substantial, giving a nice stable platform and the Hiro chuck is easy to use and has a cool magnetic docking station. Which leads me to my only gripe with the pump…The placement of the hose catch (hook near the base to keep the hose secure). It's located at the BACK of the pump, not the front. While this seems like a trivial detail, in actual usage it's really annoying. That's because when standing behind the pump, I'll bend hover and grab the chuck from its socket, then while still hunched over, place it on my wheel, which is further out in front of me. But because the hose goes around the BACK, I have to adjust my stance to make room to get the hose around. Then after pumping, I have to do the same maneuver in reverse. This makes an otherwise pleasant experience, clunky.Seems like an oversight as I don't see a reason why it's not at the front. Since they've thought of everything else, I'm surprised by this oversight. If it was a $50 pump, I wouldn't even bring it up. But for $275 and all the attention to detail on the other aspects, I'm going to knock off one star.So 4 stars for an otherwise perfect pump.

I had no idea a pump stroke could be so smooth. I had no idea a Presta chuck could consistently seal so well. Everything about it screams 'quality' and 'excellence'.You haven't inflated a tire if you haven't done so with this pump.

This pump is stupid expensive BUT I got it on sale, with that said the build quality of this pump is outstanding. The digital read out is clutch and very easy to see, it’s appears to be more accurate then my handheld units. The canister is large so the pump moves a decent amount of air. If I remember correctly each full pump is equal to 2+PSI.The air chuck is interesting but after using it for a few weeks now I totally dig it. You can adjust the tension on the chuck depending on how tight you want it to clamp on your valve stem. The hose is extra long so you can actually pump up your tires while your bike is on the repair stand. As mentioned it’s stupid expensive but it should last for decades, minus the little odds and ends.

Best pump out there
7 August 2023

The rolls-royce of pumps. Sturdy, accurate, easy to read gauge etc. Does pretty well when my valve cores start to get plugged up with sealant. I did have to replace the chuck after ~ 2 years. For low tire pressures (<25 psi), I recheck with a handheld tire gauge. There's ~ 4 PSI discrepancy (ie, 20% difference). Not an issue at higher road tire pressures (60-70 psi).

Elegantly Engineered, User Friendly

From the stable base to the accurate digital display, this pump doesn't disappoint. The magnetic dock for the Hiro chuck, plus the ease in which the chuck locks onto the Presta valve, makes this pump my go-to pump since getting it. The fact that I can use it on my TT bike rear disc and of course on my road bike makes it very versatile. I was a fan of Silca after getting the Truth Gauge, but this puts the icing on the cake. The ash handle is hand/finger friendly, the smooth pump stroke and the displays and it's accuracy (when compared to the Truth Gauge) and ease in reading are a few more positives. As an aircraft mechanic, I really appreciate fine tools and ones that work as advertised. You won't be disappointed with this pump.

Great pump, by no means "the cheaper ultimate"
9 October 2022

Was torn between this and the ultimate. Hard to pass on "ultimate" vs "super", so I had to really think about this. The deciding factor? Gauge up high on the super vs at your feet on the ultimate. Sold. No bending down to see the pressure, which has to help accuracy anyway.I was slightly against needing batteries to pump up my tires, but I routinely have CR2032 batteries for my various power meters, so not a problem. As an enhancement, I wish the gauge had a solar cell on it to let you pump for "free" or as a backup to the batteries. Solar cells are really good now, and don't even need direct sun to work, I'd love it.Gauge turns off automatically after a couple minutes being idle, very nice. Accuracy is useless without the ability to reproduce it.Go for it, stop replacing your pumps every 2 years.

Love it

I finally bit the bullet after a few decades and picked up a Silca pump, and while expensive, the quality is there. I'm not getting any younger (although still not too old at 48), and the digital readout up high makes dialing in an accurate pressure a no-brainer and easy. I've had a few cheaper pumps that you find at bike shops, and while they worked fine, this is just another level up......from the Hiro chuck, the construction, feel, ability to get the right pressures, etc. It feels a little weird that if I fully extend the pump handle, it pretty much hits me in the chin while bending slightly, but it doesn't take too long to fill up a tire with such a long stroke. Like most expensive items that will last and are high quality, it's an investment.

I’ve had the Silca Digital Floor Pump for a week now so this isn’t a long term review. I already know that I would be kicking myself for not buying it 20 years ago if it had been available. I’ve had lots of pumps over the past 35 years. Some were inexpensive work horses that got the job done and recently I had an expensive Lezyne that I hated and gave away. This Silca digital is a great size and very stable. The long hose is super convenient and the Hiro head is the best inflator I’ve ever used. And then there’s the dial. It honestly could not be more perfect. I have three bikes I ride regularly (mountain and road) and I find myself letting air out of the tires just so I can refill them. What I love about this pump: The Hiro locking-lever chuck is quick, easy to use, doesn't leak and is adjustable. The digital gauge is easy to read and I like the fact it turns itself on and off (Didn't think I would care about that but it's nice). The ash handle is another feature I underestimated: it's super comfortable. Of course I'll use this pump at home but I'll also be taking it to races and I was impressed by how easy it is to transport with the magnetic chuck holder and the handle strap, and it's surprisingly light. I have high expectations for Silca products and this has exceeded them all. Only downside is I should have gotten one sooner.
