For YEARS I have been a Yeti girl but with a toddler now who likes to pull on my straw and knock over my tumbler, I needed something that was more leak-proof. Everyone has been RAVING about Stanleys lately, but the "real ones know" that Simple Modern is where it's at so I invested here. The silicone buffer around the straw was just the thing I needed to keep my daughter from spilling my tumbler every time she got her hands on it (which is pretty often). The shape, size, weight, and handle of the Trek makes it hardly feel like its 40oz of water and I've been drinking more water because somehow, it "feels" less, if that makes sense. It doesnāt keep ice as long as my RTIC ceramic tumbler, but this is a minor gripe. I was disappointed with this tumbler. I love the original trek tumbler so I was so excited to try the Signature. It is super nice that it is spill-proof BUT the straw is not as good. The suction is not strong and I don't like that the straw is flimsy and not hard plastic. There was many times where I felt like I was drinking out of a straw that was cracked because there was so many air bubbles. The worst part about this is that the rubber handle, which does feel nice, is impossible to clean once it gets dirty. I tried everything to clean it but it is still stained. Very sad because I was so excited for this better version of the trek tumbler. I still love Simple Modern and think this cup could definitely be perfected and be amazing.
