After an initial investigation my Shih Tzu has used this regularly without incident. I no longer have leakage issues or problems with his tracking wet paw prints all over the place. He was apprehensive at first but it didn't take long to get the hang of it and he now goes and comes looking for his reward/treat for a job well done! This is lightweight, easy to set up, great quality and efficient! I only wish I had found it sooner. Its made life easier for both pup and human. I'll never be without it!!!

Unhelpful instructions. Too small for pads bought to fit, impossible to secure them to mat. I'll continue putting pads on top of several layers of newspaper as it's more effective

I really like how this works. My "new baby" was being trained on potty pads when I got her. Since she is such a small breed of dog, I want to continue to have the potty pad option for her. This holder works so much better than just laying one on the floor. It snaps the pad in place so she can't drag it anywhere, like she did with just the potty pads.

I was having troubles with my little Shorkie tearing the pad up and playing with it while I was gone to work. This solved that problem for me. She hasn’t done it sense and still uses it to relieve herself like before. I thought she would notice it and not like the difference, but she never seemed to mind the change! The assembly and clips to hold the pad are all really simple too.
I Have these SAME Pad Holders from a Few Years Ago. I Needed New Ones. These are Made Cheaper and with Less Material. Especially with the "Clips".. It's Hard to Get the Pee Pads to Go inside the Clips, and then Be Held Tight. I Wasted My Money. Very Disappointed.
The pictures do not reveal that this arrives folded in half. It then clicks together and appears that overflow would leak. The good thing is as long as I leave it in place the dogs will no longer pee by the dining room chair leg. The lip on it and the bulkiness prevents my dogs from peeing there.
Mom was afraid that Brinlee would pee on the floor so after my sister recommended this brand, I ordered one. We’re still working on potty training, Brinlee is 5 months old. SOMETIMES she pees on the potty pad (and when I see her and find it I make a big deal and she’s gets lots of praise and a treat!) other times, she tries to entertain herself and pulls the potty pad off this holder and rips/chews it. If I put the potty pad next to the holder, she will sit on the holder. But this holder hasn’t ruined the floor and I guess if your dog doesn’t have separation anxiety like mine this would work for you.
These worked well for a large breed puppy. The only thing I would change is the backing of the pad. Trying to figure out a better way to have it stick or keeping it in place. The pads absorbed well and was sturdy enough for a mastiff puppy.
The description states is for sizes 21" by 21" and larger and I assumed this meant the holder adjusts to enlarge. Holder does not adjust and results in no floor protection for any pad hanging over the edge. 3 stars only because would work well if pad is 21" by 21" or smaller. Zero stars for larger pads.
I bought this product because my 2 year old miniature dachshund, unfamiliar with cold weather, will not go out into the snow to do her business. She was raised abroad using just pads on a ceramic bathroom floor, but the pads available in the US are very thin and there is some leakage. This pad holder is made of rigid plastic that has a locking system which when opened and lying flat seals nicely. The tray has clasps in the corners which are great for holding the tips of thin pads in place so there is no skidding of the pad on the tray. There is a small rounded ridge around the tray and my dog goes right to the center, rather than using the edges as she tends to do when not using the tray. It is very higenic and easily sanitized.
