I've had a Simplehuman trash can for several years in my kitchen, so I finally said "why don't I have them in the bathroom?" I'm so glad I replaced my old cans with these. They're stylish, sturdy, and extremely functional. I especially like the gentle closing lid and the custom liner bags. It makes life so much easier when I can cinch the bag and take the trash out quickly without having to touch any of the refuse inside. This is a great product and I highly recommend!

Product arrived extremely well packaged (I have previously had issues with other metal bins being dented). Perfect for small bathrooms/areas. Pleased with the long guarantee. Pedal works well and sample bin liners that came free are Perfect size. The shade of white is slightly different from my white bathroom suite but doesn't bother me enough to return.

Even my 10L simplehuman can was a little large for my micro-master-bath, so I am very happy with the size of this can. One problem that likely cannot be helped is that it is now a bit too light, and moves easily when I push the foot lever. I may purchase a few magnets for the under-side of the can, just to help keep it in place, but I am very satisfied with my choice of size, otherwise. (I have purchased a number of s.h. cans, as well as other products, over the last twelve years, and I appreciate the high quality.)

This purchase was the 7th SH trash can I have purchased. They work, look great, and should you need service, SH is fast to correct any problems. I had another SH trash can break and their 10 year warranty had me a new trash can at my house in just a couple of days, so you may think the price is a bit high, but they are work every penny when you consider you won’t be buying another for ten years. Also, you do NOT need to use the expensive SH “special” trash can liners. Small trash can liners work just fine for these 4.5L trash cans. The special ones fit more tightly, but you certainly do not “need” them. Also check out their dual recycle/trash can for the kitchen. That was the product that sold me on SimpleHuman products and has made me a customer for life. And if ... MoreThis purchase was the 7th SH trash can I have purchased. The step on the can isn’t quite large enough so it scoots back every time we use it. Which is a lot, as we purchased this because we have a child in pull-ups and, though I do take the stinky pull-ups directly outside to the garbage cans, I still want some kind of protection from urine smell. We probably go through a bag every day, so we are using this a lot. I feel as tho I made the wrong choice in which one to get. I also thought the bags would be stored in the back like our large can from simplehuman in our kitchen. But that’s not the case. I’m a little disappointed in this can. But again, it’s mostly bc it’s not that sturdy on the floor and scoots so easily. The lid doesn’t come up as far either. It does help with unwanted odor so that’s good for us.
I use the smaller round step can in the restroom and recommend it. First, because the lid keeps from exposing all the trash. Second, I have a dog who likes to rummage through the trash and the lid keeps her from doing that. No more Q-tips laying around the living room or other unsightly things! Yay!
This is not our first purchase of the Simple human trash can products. Although the trash can arrived on time it wasn’t until later we noticed the dent in the lid and a few scratches. The can still works as expected so no need to send back. As long as it keeps our puppy from dragging stuff out and the shredding it we’re happy
Love this product. This is my third Simple Human purchase. The quality is nice and works as it should. Just wish the lid was a little sturdier. I dropped a small cosmetic item on it and the lid shows minor dings. Otherwise, I now own 2 of these and their slim butterfly garbage can for my small kitchen. Love their products.
I purchased both black and white step cans. They both look great in their respective rooms, but the liner is too slack to fit tight to the inner can, so it shows around the lip. This is fine with the white can, but on the black one it detracts from the streamlined, tidy look. Either a tighter fit, or a black custom fit liner would do the trick. Otherwise, really like the products.
I have spent a year looking for a container to serve as our counter-top compost bin. Initially, I was looking for one with motion sensing so that when my hands are full of dripping eggshells and onion peels, I can just wave an elbow in front of the bin and it would open... but I could not find a motion sensor unit small enough for our counter top. I did, however, find this one. So with a push of my elbow (not my dripping hands) I can get my compost in easily. If I fully open the lid (with my my hands) it will stay open for long enough that I can get several handfuls of peels and trimmings into the can. The separate interior can is perfect for taking to the outside compost unit, and can be washed separately. It is a little larger than our previous canister model - and that's good because we would fill that one up so quickly. This gives another day or two before we need to take it out. Drips clean off the surface very easily, maintaining its neat look. Now... if only they'd make one with a motion sensor... ;-)
