This guitar compares very favorably to the American-made Fenders I have and have played. First of all: I couldn't find a blemish on it. I hadn't noticed from the marketing photos online that the area where the neck bolts to the body is scalloped; a nice touch. The pickups are loud and have even tone and volume on all the strings; even my $2300 Select Strat didn't have that when I got it new. The intonation seems perfect, something that is very important to me. When I got my Select Strat, I had to order short bridge springs from Fender in order to get the intonation set right. CME also double-boxed it for shipping and put expensive, not the cheap stuff, bubble wrap everywhere in both boxes to protect the guitar while being shipped. CME said they did a set-up on it which it feels like they did. Can't recommend them highly enough. Very happy with both the guitar and CME. I have seen some of the newer high-end Fenders and I am not impressed. The Sire is a much better buy and when you consider the cost difference, it's a no-brainer; I'd buy the Sire.
