Sistema Red Klip It Microwave Soup Mug, 656ml

Bought this for husband when he was building our new home, I knew he would be eating items that were mainly out of a tin or packet so when I found this it was great for him mostly soups but also tinned food it was used for. He was living in a building site so anything useful. It wasn't cheap but afterwards I found it in discount stores so bought 3 mother in law used it all of the time. My daughter for my little almost 1yr old grandson, and a spare one for us. The reason I've marked it down was due to the fact that it does stain. Think this is down to hubby liking tomato soup. Great not having to mess about with cling film etc. A good item to keep In the cupboard.

Buying an extra as wanted another one.

Great product, only buying as an extra. They are robust east to be very confident with. No nasty surprises in the microwave. Plus easy to transport home made food to work.The price was brilliant!

Functional package for nice warm nourishment!

I got this for college kid to pack soup for lunch/dinner/late night work. It is used almost every day - it is filled up with fresh home made soup right off the stove and then heated in a microwave when ready to consume. The handy vent at the top helps steam escape if the soup has been heated a bit too hot. It is easy to open and wash in a sink before it comes back home. As long as the lid has been properly put on, we have not found any sort of leaks to date. There is nothing on the product or the product insert that vouches for leak proof functionality but fingers crossed, we will not have any. I suspect that over time we may see it but nothing yet. I guess this is due to tight lid that prevents escape of heat along with the plastic body.Reheating is easy as well. No need to take the lid off, just press the vent which provides a pathway for the steam to escape. Press it back down after reheating and you get to preserve the heat until you consume. Well designed.Overall, nice elegant package that meet the needs for our college kids and enables multi-use for soups, breakfast and lunch food. All of this for at a good value price.

Good product for those with hand paralysis

I am a c6/7 quadriplegic with hand paralysis and these mugs have been a great solution for storing items such as sugar, cocoa, tea, baking soda, salt, cornstarch, spices and so forth. The handle makes it easy to pick up. The lid is easy to remove, can use teeth if necessary. I put a small key ring around the handle in case it drops to the floor. This way I can pick it up with a magnet on a string (for a demo of magnet on string see my instagram post: username imbonnie). I always keep a large folded towel on my lap and these sit stable on my lap towel while I scoop the contents. I place some of these mugs on magnetic shelves which are on fridge for easy access to ones I use most. Great Gift Idea

I make many small gifts each year and came up with the idea of using the soup mugs for a mini gift basket. I filled them with Cup-a-Soup, hot cocoa mix, cookie and Christmas candy and wrapped them in cellophane gift bags. They were a big hit. I love the mugs and use mine daily. They are great for heating a can of soup, veggies or a hot drink.

Great Product

Great product and has many uses. Soup, as intended. Cooking items in microwave, eg. veg. Reheating and to store in fridge - half a tin of baked beans! Have had a pair of these for quite a few years and thought it was time to replace. New ones are exactly the same style, colour and size. The colour means no stains show when cooking tomato based items. Great price too.

Not sure how safe it is.

At first glance this seems very handy and practical, but I'm concerned that it appears to 'superheat' any soup cooked in it. When you take the mug out of the microwave, the soup looks completely still on the surface, as though it has stopped boiling. However if you shake or tip the mug even a small amount, the soup suddenly boils up again out of nowhere. This seems dangerous. Even worse, if you put a spoon into the mug even several minutes after cooking, the soup boils instantly and violently, causing hot splashes and almost reaching the top of the mug. I would not allow anyone under 18 to use the mug for this reason.

And having cling film to prevent the heated food spitting against the microwave walls and ceiling is not as effective as I would like it to be. And it is not the first time I have burnt my hand on heated cling film either.The lid has a push button which allows steam to be released when cooking and it also prevents food from splattering the inside of my microwave. And the click lid ensures that the food won't explode all over the place either!The volume is large enough to hold over a can of Heinz soup, it could possibly hold a can and a half in reality, but a perfect size to reheat a ready prepared meal too.It is easy to clean and has been used more times than I care to say. Sistema soup mug to go

This is one of the best ways to transport soups or food to go. My wife takes this with soft leftovers almost everyday to work. We learned about this mug to go when my son had to take lunch to school due to an allergy. This was a much safer option and allows him to have a nice warm meal packed in his lunch everyday. i discovered a manufacturing defect the hieght of the edge on the top of the lid dosent go down far enough into the mug to seal it from leaking i experienced leaking when i picked up the red mug an handeled it without locking it i prefer to heat my tea with no top on weather locked or not then put the lid on to carry it you seriously need to fix this ! i have had to use the 6 plus year old top lid soley because this earlier top lid has the correct hieght to the edge to seal the mug weather its locked closed or not. people should be able to use the mug whatever way they will an not worry about any leakage
