The Apollo from the Sendy Audio brand is definitely a feast for the eyes with its rosewood headphone cups and star-shaped steel mesh. It also offers a lot in terms of sound: the magnetostatic drivers provide natural smooth voices, deep solid bass, clear treble and a transparent accurate soundstage. The Apollo plays up with a crisp tempo and punchy bass. The planar-magnetic drivers in quad-former design consist of dual magnets with dual coils, which provide excellent electro-acoustic energy conversion, generating low-distortion lifelike sound with plenty of energy and dynamics. The cutouts for the cable connectors are carved out of the wood piece and not glued on or added in any other way, which is a testament to considerable craftsmanship. The wood of the headphone shells is polished, sandblasted, and then lacquered, giving them a particularly luxurious look. The headband is adjustable in size, and the soft goatskin leather band rests lightly and comfortably on the head. The shell-shaped memory foam-filled ear pads gently enclose the ear without exerting any uncomfortable pressure. With a weight of 395 grams, the Apollo is rather light for a magnetostat headphone and can be easily worn for several hours without disturbing. The braided headphone cable is equipped with a balanced 4.4 mm plug and a 4.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter is included. Also included is a nice black case for storing and transporting the Apollo headphones.
