SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 30ml

The reason why I won't be repurchasing Skinceuticals B5 gel is because it feels like it doesn't quite fit in with my skincare routine. While there are plenty of other great B5 serums out there, if I'm looking for something specifically for skin recovery, this product isn't my top choice, especially at the price point of $83 per bottle. When I apply it, I find it to be sticky, but before I know it, it's already fully absorbed into my skin. It doesn't leave any greasy residue, so even if I try to pat my face, it feels like a waste. This bottle is very simple but it is very convenient with its pipette. The pipette gives the exact amount of drops to apply on the face. The 30ml format can easily fit in the suitcase. The texture is liquid, fluid and very light. The application is very pleasant because the serum is fresh, which is great on hot days. It stretches easily and penetrates quickly without leaving a greasy film on my skin. I do not know how to define what I smell for. It is a very natural and vegetal scent, which disappears on application. After using this serum for several weeks, my skin is visibly more plumped and hydrated. This serum makes my skin silky without greasing my skin. My skin has visibly changed because I have a much brighter complexion and my skin is smoother and softer. I originally tried this formula at the recommendation of my Dermatologist while acclimating to Tretinoin (for anti-aging and overall skin health) a couple of years ago. This product and the H.A. Intensifier did nothing for my skin; the latter caused significant irritation. That said, adjusting to Tretinoin (Retin-A) is an infamous battle regardless. Fast forward 2 years and decided to repurchase Hydrating B5 Gel and wow…I can finally appreciated what all the hype is about with this formula! It’s beautiful and my skin is incredibly hydrated, tighter pores, even tone, and a bit of a glow. Good serum

I really like this serum but wish it gave just a little more hydration. I ordered it because I have a hard time using thicker moisturizers on my face without them clogging my pores. I decided to stick with my oil-free (thinner consistency) face moisturizer and just add this serum to my routine to get more hydrated. It is definitely helping. It dries down instantly, no smell or tackiness. My face moisturizer applies nice after this product. It is a little pricey but Skin Ceuticals is a very reputable company. My opinion is that this product would be excellent for oily skin types but Skin Ceuticals HA serum would be better for dryer skin types. If you have a normal to oily skin type I think you will really like this product. I will purchase this product again.

Great for compromised facial skin & hands

I trust this brand because I’ve been buying their C E Ferulic product for decades. I always aquire this B5 serum when I move to cities with high humidity. Under this type of climate is very challenging, and not cost-effective, to apply a creamy facial moisturizer. This product doesn’t “melt” nor slides down onto your eyes, chest and clothing. It sinks right into the skin and even if you sweat afterwards it doesn’t transfer downwards. Skin stays smooth, as a result, sunscreen and/or makeup application is not affected. I used to have acne when I was younger and this product hydrated my face without causing further breakouts. It also helped healing acne scars. I’m pleasantly surprised that I get a substantial level of hydration without any irritation at all. I want to add that during this last two months my hands were becoming heavily dehydrated. I used several different hand creams, hand masks, coconut oil, you name it, and nothing worked. I took the risk of applying the B5 serum and I’ve achieved around a 75% improvement. Nothing else in my skincare routine, diet, lifestyle has change; because of that I know that my hands are healing due to the serum. The bottle is small, which is great for traveling and/or like to save space. I will continue to buy it and recommend it as a great fragrance-free and oil-free option.

Hydration Please

This gel serum is fantastic for my dry skin. I use this product for both my day and night skin care routine to give me that much needed hydration boost. At night, I apply this product right before my nighttime moisturizer or I mix them together and apply it to my face and neck. If I'm feeling extra dry, I apply it right after toning at night before my other serums. During the day, I apply it before putting on my daily moisturizer to parch my thirsty skin.Although I live in a year-round humid climate, I have not had any problems with breakouts, excessive oiliness, or any adverse reactions while using this product. This serum was the missing link to keeping my skin hydrated and supple.

I love this product! Used for years!

I started using this product in my 30’s. I couldn’t consistently afford it so my use was spotty. Now that I’m approaching 60 I am using it almost daily. My only sadness about my most recent order is that I failed to put the lid on fully and I spilled half my brand new bottle. Can you feel my pain? :-( I HIGHLY recommend closing bottle PRIOR to putting it on your face. You’re welcome. :)This product was my very first SkinCeuticals product. I had very sensitive skin years back and this product was never a problem for me and provided great hydration. If it wasn’t due to finances I’d have used this for decades. I highly recommend this to young and aging skin alike.

Makes my face look youthful!

I wasn’t sure about buying it because of the price, but it is worth it. My skin has been feeling smooth and amazing. I have been receiving many complements on my skin lately and I started using this product about two months ago. I have acne scars and I have always felt insecure about my face, but I do notice a difference since using this serum. Not that the scars disappeared, but it helps maintain my skin looking youthful. It doesn’t feel greasy at all when you apply, but I am not sure it controls my oily skin as much on warmer days. I think it works better than other moisturizers that I have used in the past. The only thing is that it doesn’t last very long :( Already need my second bottle. I use it twice a day (AM/PM.)

This hydrating gel, on the other hand, was totally used up in maybe 2-ish months? Maybe I used too many drops at a time (shrug). It is viscous and a bit slimy, but absorbs quickly and leaves no residue. I used it after a light toner and followed it with a light moisturizer. While it is very hydrating upon application, my skin didn't feel extra hydrated throughout the day, nor did I notice any cumulative effects with continuous daily usage for a duration of 2+ months. I categorize hydration/moisture products as either adding water to the skin or keeping water in the skin. This is an "adding water" kind of product, for sure. Silky Smooth Application for Hydration

SkinCeuticals brand products have always been my top priority choice for slowing down the aging process and the Hydrating B5 Gel is an excellent addition to my skin routine. The 1 fl. oz. bottle will last a long time as very little is needed to cover the entire face and neck. The consistency allows for substantial and extended coverage. The results are impressive. My skin is smooth with reduced fine lines and a more even tone. I highly recommend SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel. Note: the gel is not thick or too thin at all and spreads easily over the face.
