Its functionality is good, however the construction is not robust. If you are a serious golfer that hits the ball with power then it would probably be best to shoot for a sturdier model. The extendable fibreglass frame broke within a few days and I have had to re design some of the components to obtain some logevity.

A little difficult putting together and broke at the end of the year (my own fault) but definitely worth the money. Left it outside the whole summer, never took it down or brought it inside, and everything lasted. The mat is still in great shape. Pretty much only hit real golf balls at it and not the plastic training balls that were included. The only gripe I have with it is sometimes the balls can scoot under the back of the net but might be my own fault cause I never tied down the back with the included stakes so it was easier to move when I mowed the grass. It broke cause I was in a rush to take it down before a snowstorm in the winter. The string in the pole snapped.

I bought this product for my dad for Father’s Day. It’s a nice quality net but the setup and the pieces to hold it up just aren’t functional. It takes at least two people to set it up. The plastic corners where the rods go in broke the second time we put it up luckily they didn’t break all the way and can still be used. It would be nice if they were metal and could keep the nets shape and just be adjustable so you could just lower one half of the net to the other for storage so you don’t have to put the rods together every time. Wouldn’t recommend this product unless your going to leave it up. We just don’t have the 7 feet of room to just leave it up. Otherwise it holds up nicely for practice.

I thought I would be one of the lucky ones. This net was nearly impossible to set up- the rods felt like they were eight inches too long. After over an hour of fanagling the fabric and choosing every four letter word in my vocabulary, I finally got it up.I hit about ten shots off the mat, and I noticed that the mat is already fraying and the bottom of my five iron had green streaks from the turf. The net held up to my relatively moderate swing speed with my five iron and real balls. I decided that I wouldn’t use this net because of the hassle of setup and tear down - therefore I needed to return it.Of course upon return i start getting these little sharp needle pricks in my fingers - the graphite rods literally were splintering under the outrageous ... Package arrived quickly but looked as if it had taken a few tumbles from the delivery truck (pic 1). Upon opening, I quickly noticed I was missing the 2in tee and the 12 Impact golf balls (pic 2). Dick's customer service left me on hold for long amounts of time before eventually dropping my call three times. Setup is very difficult for one person. Fitting the net over the metal struts takes me close to 20min.However, the net and mat look and work as advertised. I can hit everything from wedge to driver into the net with a real golf ball as long as I place the mat approximately 5ft from the net. I didn't try lob shots for obvious reasons. High power shots with woods and distance irons did bounce the ball back to me, but it was on the ground and low velocity, so I ... If you can find this product on sale and use it with some potentially missing parts, I'd recommend it!
The net is an effective net for hitting golf balls. The practice balls are useless in that they don't give any feel like hitting a regular ball. The hitting mat is too light to stay in place and moves even on a surface that should hold it in place. You will need a full size hitting mat and regular golf balls if you want to make use this effectively. Also, if you think you can just take it down and set up in a few minutes, that is not the case. The rods require some care in slipping through the material, and it takes some work to get it into the 90 degree holder to set up. I would recommend this net if you have a place to leave it set up and use when needed.
I bought this net on 04-04-20 I used the no contact pick up which is the best! Good job on that Dicks! The only reason I left it fair is the actual netting is great. *BUT* The other components are kind of trash. The first time putting this net together on (04-05-20)took 2 other people. The more we stretched it to fit it in place the more I felt like it would rip and could hear it straining. After using thought the day in the grass I was disassembling it and noticed the sleeves that the poles go in we tearing already. The net is super tight when put together which caused the balls to home flying back at my shins everytime. The hitting mat is not the best either. When hitting it feels like you are hiring off hard pan. I stopped because I felt I would damage my irons ... MoreI bought this net on 04-04-20 I used the no contact pick up which is the best! I check the poles and one had split. I really wanted to like this set up but unfortunately it was not good. Move on and put the money towards a different net. I will be returning like I said I really hoped this would be a great set up but unfortunately it wasn't.
Only gave it 1 star because I had too....I used this once, while it worked ok when I was taking it down I noticed the fabric the rod's go through was separating in multiple places, was most noticeable in the curved area. The mat seemed to hold up well to my very beginner swing but there is no way the net would have held up. Wish I had read the reviews before the purchase, promptly returned it to Dicks. This is one item they should pull from the shelves, very surprised they carry such a poor product.
Did our touchless curbside pick-up at Dick's which was great btw. My husband and daughter were excited to get this put together. It came with those fiberglass tent pole type rods which we have used on so many other things. They fit in so tight that the first time assembling it they both started to hear something cracking and then the rod snapped! So we contacted the store and they were great and switched it out. We thought it was a fluke, my husband very carefully put it up and it again was tight but he got it up. She used it for a few days and loved it. A storm was coming in and we had to take it down and yep fiberglass rod broke instantly. Have to wait to return it, emailed the company on the 8th with no response ( but I am sure they are doing their best right now ... But their is obviously a problem, I see their are more reviews of the same problem that have been posted after our initial purchase. The net was great the 2 days it was up.
I am a 4’11” female and almost 7 months pregnant and I nearly put this entire thing together by myself until the second L connector, only because I was afraid I’d break something. Husband connected that part only. All these whiny complaining reviews are hilarious. Here’s a tip: if you leave the rods unconnected and folded while you thread them, it’s a lot easier, fellas.TBD how it holds up for hitting balls, but looks like most of y’all quit at the set up step and never got to find out LOL the few that pushed through seem to think it works just fine. We shall see.
