Dont listen to the haters

Are there things they could add? Sure. Is the game repetitive? I dont think so. Is the game assassin creed black flag? Not what so ever. I like this game is different. I love that this game takes place on the ship 90% of the time. I think people just hate that they expect too much out of every company and every game. Graphics are nice! The game play is a lot of fun! But the thing that sucks is nowadays people expect too much and always listen to peoples reviews instead of trying it for yourself. I think they underrated this game. Theres so much more they could do with updates and add-ons. I hope the developers dont give up on this game even though with the way it sold they probably will. Upgrading a ship abd unlock ship uogrades to changing ships color and adding different cannons and guns to the ship's. Running quest to take down sea monsters to running drugs and alcohol across the seas. Taking down fortresses or hunting ships or other high ranking fleets to takedown to collect their loot. And even the pvp fighting to capture areas or join a group and run the map. This game just about has it all. Hopefully like i said with add-ons and updates it will. Im not sure why im bothering writing this review when i need to get back to taking loot and smuggling on the high seas.

Don’t listen to all the negativity

Firt off. Dont pay attention to all the complaints. Yes. It has its flaws. All games do to a certain extent. But the bottom line is its entertaining and easy to play. My only complaint so far is the online only play. I have a PlayStation plus account. So not a Big deal thwre. But I do prefer single player ofline games. That being said. It is entertaining. Its easy to learn the controls and ive been able to have fun on my own without havijg to interact with too many online players. Some of the voice overs seem a bit disappointing. But i would recommend the game overall.

Game of the year.

I hesitated in buying those game, but I’m a so happy I bought it. I’m currently addicted to it lol. It’s nothing like assassins creed as some expected and that a great thing, let me explain. There’s no killing, I’m not sure why people like that in games, I prefer a more humane, realistic approach and this game delivers that. You can visit and explore islands which feel so realistic, I see different tribes fighting for trade routes and that’s so funny and cool to me, I love exploring and riding my ship over the sea, it relaxes me so much. There waters are treacherous lol when storms hit you see the water be very agitated and that so cool. It’s a very realistic type of game, and acquired taste actually. I hate mindless killing in games which I know some people love, not sure why. I love this game so much, I enjoy customizing my ship and changing colors for my ship and crew. The best thing is also seeing other players riding their ships lol which makes me feel like I am not alone. Some ships are awesome looking which makes me want to get a shipSimilar to theirs. Cool game, cool story, people are just so used to killing in games that when they receive something opposite they find it boring. I find it fun and actually enjoyable to play this game. 10 out of 10 so far lol.

I got it on sale and glad I didn't pay more

I was waiting for this game for years. There was a lot of hype and I really like the idea of it but now that I'm playing it I have to say that it's not very fun. It's just the same boring thing over and over again. It really feels like the game is unfinished, that the game world is kind of empty and that it desperately needs more content and creativity woven to the actual story, of which there is really none, and the quests, of which there are very few. It really needed more content which I hope they don't try to sell us as DLC because I won't be buying it. The base game should have been more than this and even on sale, I can't recommend it because we live in a world of some really great games. What a bummer. I really was hoping for more here.

Much Better than you think

I highly enjoy this game. The water detail and ship mechanics are awazing. I have played it for over 70 hours and have just scratched the surface. If you like a strategic game of gathering and managing resources, this is a hit. There is room for a long life in this adventure if Ubisoft pushes through the higly critized launch. Other games had a rough launch and the publishers licensed to the players. I feel this will set a bar once ot matures. Give it a try a help lay the roots. Rrrrrr mates!

No Offline Mode

The purchase and delivery from Best Buy was a great experience. The game was delivered to my home on the release date. The game is fun to play, lot of exploring and building. The only downfall is that SKULL and BONES has No Offline Mode. Internet and PlayStation Plus Required. I did not know this until after I received the game. You can't play the new game you just payed $70.00 for until you sign up and pay an additional $9.99 a month for PlayStation Plus. I will never buy a game like this again. UBISOFT should have made this game with an Offline Mode. I will pay more attention next time I purchase a new game. Too bad, this game is fun to play.

Really, it’s fun.

While this game did itself no favors by claiming to be a “quadruple-A” experience, what they’ve ended up with is a vast, fun adventure on the high seas. It’s not everything they promised, but the game offers a relaxed and fun world to explore on your trusty schooner. Allows you to play sort of however you like - don’t like PVP? You don’t have to do it. Just want to explore hidden islands and craft goods for in-game gold? Go for it. Want to utterly destroy the world? That’s an option too. People were ready to hate this game, but totally worth some time. I’ve had a blast with it.

Too much sailing, not enough hand to hand combat.

Been playing this now for 3 days and honestly it could be so much better. 11 years in development and it fails to deliver on a few levels, which I find hard to swallow given the price. 90% of the game is ship based, to the point where even harvesting resources and looting shipwrecks is done by pulling alongside and hitting the button when a swing meter is in the "green". You only go ashore to trade or upgrade, there are NO sword fights or brawls and even looting a town or encampment is done from your ship. Be aware that the map, once fully opened up is huge and although there are some fast travel points, there aren't many and they cost you an amount of silver depending on distance.
