I have to say, I was honestly not expecting good sound quality considering the price. However, I am pleasantly surprised and impressed at how good these headphones are. They feel comfortable to wear and sound sound amazing. Vocals sound crisp, as well as the background instrumentals. The bass sounds a bit muffled, but it’s perfectly serviceable. The microphone quality is also great. During my tests with phone calls, I was heard perfectly fine. The only downside would be the plastic build quality. But considering how inexpensive these headphones are, it does not really matter. I would still 100% recommend the headphones.

Haven't owned this headset long, but I am a audiophile so I know what good quality sounds like. These Skullcandy headphones are pretty average, even at their current price point. The bass is fairly good, though it is muddy and distorted. Mid tones are surprisingly good but do tend to be overpowered by the bass. Highs are overpowered. Overall quality soundwise is ok for someone who isn't an audiophile. Me personally, they do the job but really don't sound that great. They are overpriced at $60...the build quality is flimsy plastic with soft cups that are too small and crushing on the ears. Quality headsets have large cups that fit snug around the ear, not over it. I am using a dongle to wire in my headset as my Galaxy S22 Ultra does not possess a headphone jack, something most modern flagship phones lack. Overall, with consideration to the price of this headset I can't say I particularly impressed. I would say this headset would be more appropriately priced at between $25-$35, not $60...

These headphones are the best headphones I've ever had. I've had all kinds of headphones over the years but these ones have lasted the longest. I own three pairs and all still work. I even broke the top part by sitting on it and when I glued it back together the audio hadn't changed, EVEN WITH THE WIRES EXPOSED! I got my first pair in 2017 and have it sitting for storage since I sat on it, then I bought a second one and was careful not to sit on it which I haven't yet thankfully! I wanted another pair for another device so I bought my third and final pair of skullcandy headphones back in 2019. All three still work perfectly and the audio is perfect, it's not muffled so the audio sounds perfect and crisp. Highly recommend!

Over the many decades, I have used a lot of different on-ear and over-the-ear headphones. For me, sound quality is important; however, comfort wearing them for sustained periods of time is also a concern. Prior to making a purchase of this Skullcandy Riff wired on-ear headphone, I made the effort to view several product review videos which were specific to this model on YouTube. Although these Skullcandy Riff headphones are on-ear, the parts which rest on your ear are big enough in dimensions to cover your ear and they are thickly padded and tops of the pads are SUPER soft! The sound is also great. I read some product reviews which mention that there is no padding on the underside of the plastic band which rests on the top of your head during the listening ... MoreOver the many decades, I have used a lot of different on-ear and over-the-ear headphones. I read some product reviews which mention that there is no padding on the underside of the plastic band which rests on the top of your head during the listening experience; however, these Skullcandy Riff headphones are so lightweight (in a good way!) that I did not miss having that padded headband feature. Also, compared to other headphones which I own, the cord which has the 3.5 mm plug is a nice length also. Another great feature is when the headphones are positioned on your ears and you are listening to music with significant volume others are not likely to detect sound exiting the earpieces.
The sound quality is amazing, they fit very comfortably on my head, and I have yet to have any issues connecting. Here's the problem though: within or after a month the band of the headphones will break. I mean snap, like, the right side of the headphones will be dangling by a wire; they always seem to snap from me just putting them on. I wouldn't say I'm being too rough or going to quick, the band is just really fragile. This is going to be my 4th pair within 6 months (ignoring the fact I fix the broken headphones with tape because I can't always immediately buy a spare). So, if you're thinking of buying these headphones as a gift, go with the 99$ one with the bands that's thicker. I'm no expert on sound quality but I thought these sounded great and were comfortable for hours, so when my first pair snapped, I tried to fix them a variety of useless ways. I got another pair because they were so inexpensive, then that pair broke the same way for my 30 year old daughter. I was peeved that they broke in the same place (the plastic inside the sliding piece). So I thought, still pretty cheap, I'll get one more and be VERY careful putting them on gently. Then my 10 year old granddaughter used them 1 time and again they snapped like freaking wafer cookies! so frustrating that a super product by a good brand is being undermined by brittle plastic bits! Fool me 3 times, thats all I can stand. The reviews on amazon, had I checked, tell the same tale by ... MoreI'm no expert on sound quality but I thought these sounded great and were comfortable for hours, so when my first pair snapped, I tried to fix them a variety of useless ways. I bought these headphones back in June of this year. The "Ultra-Durable Headband" snapped today while I was pulling them on--4 months later. I do not have a large head and I take good care of my things. I only used them once a day, if that. It's hard to believe this of Skullcandy. Also, the sound wasn't the greatest. The bass was barely there and the treble was kind of tinny. The mid-ranges sounded really good, though and the ear cups were super comfortable. I'm just very disappointed that the headband was that fragile.
Need headphones? Look no further, get these Riffs! I had literally been searching for a pair of comfortable headphones for at least 2 years. I had an older version of some Skull Candy headphones that were wired but they recently broke after owning them for about 10 years and they didn’t have the ability to make calls or control tracks. For the longest time, I didn’t think I wanted a foldable design because I always thought they would collapse easy and frustrate me, but boy was I wrong—at least in this case! The foldable feature is great when traveling or storing. I had purchased a much more expensive pair of wireless Skull Candy headphones, but they were very tight and hurt my head and ears. The foldable feature is great when traveling or storing. I had purchased a much more expensive pair of wireless Skull Candy headphones, but they were very tight and hurt my head and ears. I only like when the ear speakers are one solid pillowy piece instead of the kind that are shaped like a donut. The donut shape hurts my ears and it seems like that’s the only way brands are making headphones anymore so I was so elated to find the Skull Candy Riff on-ear headphones. They are super lightweight and soft to the point you hardly notice you’re wearing them. I’m literally going to sell my more expensive pair and stick with these. I hope Skull Candy continues to make lightweight on-ear headphones because not everyone likes that donut shaped speaker. I also appreciate that they made these flexible so they don’t squeeze your head or make your ears sore.I take a lot of phone calls on these and have had zero issues. The sound and clarity is great. You can also pause your videos or music with them. Music sounds great in them and even has some bass. I would literally use them for any of your phone needs whether it be making hands-free calls, watching videos, or listening to music. If you have been looking for a nice and lightweight pair of wired headphones that are comfortable and have calling capabilities, then look no further. These would be great for any age, from children to grandparents. If you like the qualities I explained in headphones then don’t hesitate to get these Skull Candy Riffs.
As expected of Skullcandy, the sound of these headphones is not the problem, bass is nice, but perhaps lacking a little in the treble range. What kicks these to the curb, however, is the lack of any padding in the head band. Why did they think this would be ok. You either need a thick head of hair or to be wearing a hat for the basic plastic band to not be uncomfortable on your head. I'll be ripping some padding from an old set of headphones to fix this issue - something Skullcandy should be smacked on the hand for not having in the first place. The build quality of the headphones overall is cheap, but at least the ear cushions are comfortable. I'm only giving it 2 stars for the sound and ear cushions, otherwise, they're not something I'd ever recommend.
great sound for the price, I was impressed by the bass. not much going for it in high notes and snare, and may be lacking some depth if thats important to you, but for $20 its not bad at all.fit was ok but was uncomfortable for long periods of time with too much pressure on the edge of the ear. Unfortunately the ear cups are a bit unpleasant, the under layer of fabric over the weird hole filled faux leather wore away really quickly, leading to the foam cushion being exposed within the first month which was gross. The faux leather stayed in tact though which was nice considering the cheap sony on ear headphones would have pretty much disintegrated by now.Used these constantly pretty much 24/7 and wore them any time i left the house for about 4 months and they got ... Moregreat sound for the price, I was impressed by the bass. not much going for it in high notes and snare, and may be lacking some depth if thats important to you, but for $20 its not bad at all.fit was ok but was uncomfortable for long periods of time with too much pressure on the edge of the ear. Pretty durable for the price point overall, except for the earmuffs. Definitely worth it for the price, these got broken in an accident but probably would have lasted much longer than 4 months
