Swaddling gives babies the snug embrace they're used to from the womb, and helps prevent their startle reflex. Dr. Harvey Karp is the pediatrician whose 5 S's started the swaddling revolution. Made from 100% organic cotton, this ultra-soft and breathable swaddle features a unique double-zipper that allows for easier middle-of-the-night diaper changes. An inner arm wrap and leg flap prevent break-outs, and the special Velcro is designed to be extra quiet. There are also arm openings that can unsnap to allow for arms out, if baby prefers. Open-weave mesh ventilation at the legs and shoulders reduces the risk of overheating. This Sleepea also includes an additional strap between the legs as well as a wider opening for hip placement. The shape is healthy for hip position and development. Note: For the first 6 months of life, babies should only sleep on their back. If your baby can roll, you should stop swaddling their arms. Babies need to be able to push up in case they roll onto their tummy and their face is pressing against the mattress.

Delivery $9.95

Very easy to use. Started using it for my newborn at 2-3weeks after trying out a different Love to Dream arms up swaddle first. Spoke to a midwife who said the arms up causes them to wake themselves more at the early age and to use an arms down if I had one. Luckily I had ordered the Happiest Baby swaddle as well as a back up prior to giving birth. Baby initially resists for about 1 minute and then she loves it. Sleeps 2-3hours now between feeds as opposed to the initial 10-30mins with the different swaddle. Material is soft and warm for 21-24deg Celsius room temp and I just have a onesie underneath. Also customer service is really good.

If only I’d known about these before baby was born, we used the standard newborn ones you can get anywhere which were outgrew quickly and baby could escape them.So glad I found these when on the hunt for larger sized swaddles because they are amazing! They’re so easy that even my husband can do them up without any bother. The zipper has 2 zips making nappy changes easy as you can open from the bottom without taking baby out completely. We love the space/planets design and that they’re made from soft material, the mesh parts keep them breathable so we don’t need to worry about over heating. We also love that there’s no way baby can slip down inside the bag because of the crotch strap meaning there’s less worry for us there too!I just wish I’d brought larger sizes ... MoreIf only I’d known about these before baby was born, we used the standard newborn ones you can get anywhere which were outgrew quickly and baby could escape them.So glad I found these when on the hunt for larger sized swaddles because they are amazing! They’re so easy that even my husband can do them up without any bother. The zipper has 2 zips making nappy changes easy as you can open from the bottom without taking baby out completely. This swaddle is great quality. Material is somewhat stretchy so baby isn’t too tightly wound up inside. The design makes a lot of sense. Our newborn, however, moves her legs around a lot, and therefore the swaddle doesn’t really address that issue. We end up having to double swaddle her especially since it’s the winter time and the room gets a bit on the colder side. Also, our newborn outgrew the small swaddle in just a few weeks. We had to size up at week 6 even though the weight capacity matched the prescribed size. We’re still using it at week 8 and will do so for the foreseeable future as long as baby doesn’t learn to roll over just yet!

Love the unique shape/style of this wrap compared to others available in the baby market right now — namely the elastic band INSIDE the swaddle. Our baby is a total Houdini & it took a few swaddles to figure out we’d need one like this, which keeps her arms more securely inside. I also like that there are snaps at the top that open & create arm holes when the time comes to make that transition. Only cons are regarding the velcro. After using the swaddle for over a month now, it seems like the velcro does not stick as securely as it did originally. On the other hand, ironically, it sticks to our baby’s socks & my own clothes, which often get snagged (& ruined) when getting the baby in & out if the swaddle.
I have mixed feelings about this swaddle.I purchased several of them during a sale without realising that they required the baby to sleep with arms down by her side. I thought this would be a problem (she’s used to another brand which allows her to be arms up which is her natural/preferred position) but for the first few nights she slept “like a baby”. She loved it. I thought I’d hit the jackpot. Then she turned into Houdini. She manages to get one arm out every single night and then whinges because she’s in an uncomfortable position which means I need to reswaddle her.The other thing that really irks me is that the Velcro on the piece that goes between the legs has ripped up numerous pairs of socks. She naturally kicks her legs as I’m getting her into the swaddle ... MoreI have mixed feelings about this swaddle.I purchased several of them during a sale without realising that they required the baby to sleep with arms down by her side. As other reviewers point out on several other websites including this one, this swaddle is not safe. When waking up for night feeds we found the Velcro to be up on and over our baby’s shoulders the first night. Worried about the material covering her face we watched her in it during a nap the following day. When baby moved and wiggled her arms the Velcro moved up her shoulders again. We did purchase the correct sized based on the website, followed the directions on the box, the recommendations from the website, and their Facebook video on YouTube. We did not purchase the cloth diaper to secure her arms down as responds from customer service on here recommend -it defeats the purpose of the 5 second swaddle as well as not feeling comfortable adding an extra layer over ... MoreAs other reviewers point out on several other websites including this one, this swaddle is not safe. I don’t feel we should have to purchase more items to make the the swaddle we already bought safe and effective. When reaching out to customer service with concerns and attempt to exchange our other two unopened swaddles (the following day of receiving our order) thinking a size up would suit our baby better we were told to gift the two unopened ones and as there are no exchanges even with proof that we had not opened the other two boxes and offering to pay for shipping there and back to us by two different customer service agents. The fact that the company would not let us exchange sizes (we weren’t not trying to get our money back) proves they too know their item is not of high quality. The ease of putting this swaddle on is not worth the possible risk of covering or blocking your baby’s nose and mouth. *my review has been updated as my initial review was not allowed to be published*
I bought these in desperation since my newborn was only catnapping both during the day and night. He fell asleep quickly in the swaddle (along with being held and rocked) but he would wake up after 15-20 minutes completely upset and fighting having his arms down. It didn't matter if I was still holding him or not. it just seemed like he really hated having his arms pinned down. Was really hoping that it would get all of us more sleep but actually think it did the opposite. We have since been using the swaddles with arms up resulting in better sleep. Maybe my baby is just an anomaly. Otherwise, the material is fine. The Velcro is a bit noisy but not any louder than other swaddles we have tried. We may get use out of it with the arms out completely but haven't tried ... MoreI bought these in desperation since my newborn was only catnapping both during the day and night. We bought the sleepea after a recommendation from a friend as our little one wasn’t sleeping well and kept waking up all night due to startling reflex. At 1.5 months we got the sleepea and we have used it EVERYDAY since then and our LO is about to be 8 months old! We got them in every size and have used them for arms in swaddle as she felt so secure and slept so well. It transitions into arms out so easily when they roll so we didn’t waste any money on that because shes been using sleepea with arms out for 3 months or so and still loves it. We spent money on other sleep sacks that we never used/didn’t work and we were happy this was the solution!
I really wanted to love this swaddle and was excited for it to come so we could start using it after our baby outgrew a different swaddle we were given when he was born. We've been using it for almost 2 months now and sadly it hasn't held up.What I do love about this swaddle is the fabric, which is super soft, and the breath ability with the mesh. Also the option for one or both arms out is really neat when it's transition time. However, I don't think we will make it there. The fabric on the inner band where the Velcro adheres has been used enough that it's basically frayed/worn to the point where the texture of the material no longer allows the Velcro to stick. The Velcro is still super sticky and sticks to everything (bedding, jammies) when it comes loose, but ... MoreI really wanted to love this swaddle and was excited for it to come so we could start using it after our baby outgrew a different swaddle we were given when he was born. The Velcro is still super sticky and sticks to everything (bedding, jammies) when it comes loose, but won't stick to the area on the swaddle anymore that we need it to. Super frustrating!I know all babies grow differently, and our little guy has been growing in length rather than width so we aren't moving the Velcro out incrementally. I imagine if we were this wouldn't be an issue for us because the unused part of the swaddle band are still sticky. Also, our baby has been able to break out during his restless early morning hours and I'll find him with his hands up and the swaddle band bunched around his face/neck. This happens even when I make extra sure to position the band in the correct position (almost down to fingertips) and has been happening from the beginning. We must have an extra magical Houdini baby.We aren't able to use the feature to unzip from the bottom for diaper changes and avoid unswaddling/res waddling because our baby's arms are long enough to where his hands come down into the diaper changing area, which is I think just how our baby is built and growing. Please execute any errors as this tired mama types this in the middle of the night hoping the Velcro holds...
This swaddle really does give peace of mind and saves our sanity at night. We don’t have to worry about a blanket coming loose and being a suffocation risk in the bassinet; that alone makes this product worth it. With multiple feedings at night, it’s easy to get the baby in and out of it without disturbing her by having to roll her over slightly to tuck a blanket properly. We were re-doing our blanket swaddles multiple times to get them right; we finally said we need to get this 5-second swaddle. It’s a huge time saver (and therefore a sleep-saver).The velcro is quiet, but still noisy, though it is more likely to wake my spouse than the baby. If done too tight, I think it can make baby’s digestion more uncomfortable. But I am giving the swaddle four stars for one ... MoreThis swaddle really does give peace of mind and saves our sanity at night. If done too tight, I think it can make baby’s digestion more uncomfortable. But I am giving the swaddle four stars for one main reason: the zipper. The zipper dock at the top always jams into my baby’s chin/mouth when zipped all the way up. I do not think design-wise it needs to go all the way up like that—I wish it had a U shaped collar design instead, so that it didn’t poke the baby’s face. I often zip it up about 3 inches from the top, and then tuck in the hard zipper dock so it doesn’t bother her. That is my only main complaint! Hopefully it won’t be a problem when she gets bigger, but it’s been this way from her growth from 5-8lbs so far.
