Interesting little lens, I bought it to play around with my new micro 4/3 camera. It is definitely not a lens I would use primarily, but it is fun. It is fast, but no auto-focusing. Forces me to think more about what I am doing. For the price, it is a great lens to have. I do have issues on my olympus. When I attach the lens, often the camera does not recognize the lens and it takes me a while to get it working. This is a bit frustrating. Hoping to find the magic formula to get it working every time.

It is fun to use, not the most practical but if you want that nostalgic toy camera look this is better than using a filter. It is cheap enough that if you want that kind of look it is worth picking up. If you are looking at this as just a cheap lens that is fast at f1.4 this probably won't be what you want, this isn't a clean image, it is an image that has character.

This lens is just fun to use. It always surprises me with the results I get. It weighs next to nothing. I haven't had any problems at all using it on the E-PM2. Just play with it and have fun. The different funky looks you will get with it will surprise you. If you like playing with the lens cap lens you will enjoy this one too. If all you want is tack sharp shots get something else, but for the money I've had plenty of fun with it.

It's a toy, they tell you that in the name, toys are for fun and this is no exception. It's great for experimenting with razor thin depth of field, blurry and shallow to reasonably sharp and deep. If you're lucky, sometimes you just might capture a bit of beauty. Go ahead and try it, you might surprise yourself.

I had no technical issues using it on a Lumix GX-85. Comes with a bunch of different colored rubber barrel grips for fun I suppose. Minimum focus distance is around 18". Makes for an interesting portrait effect.
Just got this lens today. I have only had a chance to take a few shots so far but have already got a few great pix that I couldn't get with any other lens. I love the swirly bokeh that you can get and the cool vignetting. I was super happy when I found out about this lens and now that I have one, I am not disappointed. Great bang for the buck if you have any interest in the creative, lo-fi aesthetic you can get with this lens!
I got this lens to put on my Panasonic GM1 (my pocket camera) to do some experimental photography - street, landscape, maybe even some limited still life. I like the small size coupled with the focal length and maximum aperture. It fits well with my idea of what a pocket camera should be and do. The lens is completely manual but that is no problem for me. Be sure to first turn on the Shoot Without Lens feature for the camera. Then it just feels like shooting with a late 60's - early 70's vintage camera. For exposure I put the GM1 in aperture priority mode, set my aperture manually, and the camera selects the shutter speed. Manual focusing takes some getting used to if you're not familiar with the process, but I am familiar so it's no big deal. The central portion of the image resolves plenty of detail even at the widest apertures. At wide apertures the bokeh is definitely unusual, but that's why you're getting the lens, right? If you're expecting $1500 lens IQ and deliciously creamy bokeh, you need to look elsewhere. In case it's not clear, the lens has a threaded screw mount that screws into a provided adapter plate for micro 4/3s. It goes on the camera easily because twisting the lens on only tighten the thread mount to the adapter. To remove is not so easy. There are serrations on opposite sides of the plate edge that allow you to get a grip on the plate. You have to use them to twist the plate because twisting the lens just unscrews it from the plate, or at least it did for me. The plate is thin and gripping the serrations took a little practice. It's still not as easy as gripping the lens and twisting. I did encounter one gotcha! - I could not thread on a 30.5 mm filter or step-up adapter. The threads on both were oblviously too big and I could not mount either one. I think the filter threads on the lens are 30 mm, not 30.5 mm. I'm inclined to believe the filter and adapter were correct because the adapter screwed into the filter with no problem. This loss of function means I can't use the lens with my full spectrum camera which requires various filters to be used. I'm a little disappointed with this situation. All in all I'm satisfied with the lens. I had a pretty good idea what I was getting when I ordered it. I do recommend that you check out various blogs for more information about the lens and example images so you can gauge whether this lens is what you're looking for.

The effect of the defocus on this lens is really pretty unique, the closest thing I have seen to it is my Lomo Petzval 85mm, and this lens costs less than 1/10 the price, weighs much less, and is far more portable, and generally much easier to use (aperture ring vs. water house plates is far more convenient). This is an effect lens to be sure, and the effect is very pronounced. I found the images almost unusable wide open, with the contrast and saturation getting pretty washed out, but by f/2.8 (which I have thus far discerned as the optimal performance point for this particular lens), the vignetting is down to a workable level, the sharpness in the center is genuinely impressive, and the color and contrast are actually pretty intense. It's a cool, and fun lens.
love the analog look of the photos from this little guy. a super weird tiny lens that's a bit finicky to focus (manual focus only) but honestly that only adds to the aesthetic. produces images with a cool low-fi look & a very good price point. I use my MFT camera (an olympus epl8) for these fun & weird lenses & stick to my dslr for "real" shots.
I've occasionally had a slight problem with my Olympus epl-5 recognizing the lens is attached, but re-seating the lens on the body has resolved the issue so far. It's a fun lens with a nice look to it! PS: it's TINY, and no weight to it at all.
