TheSmallRig aluminium constructed 1241 Cold Shoe directly mounts to any camera accessory with 1/4"-20 or M2.5 threads so it can be used to mount your camera to rigs, brackets, and cages. You can adapt a microphone, video light, or other accessory to the mount, just follow the arrows at the top that show the direction to slide the accessory in. The bending bevels inside the mount prevent the accessory from sliding out or becoming accidentally removed.

I bought two of these little guys to add to my DJI Ronin SC which I got from B&H for a great price.I was able to mount my wireless mic (Rode Go Wireless ii also from B&H) and another piece of gear to my gimbal.Product is high quality!!!Upping my mobile run and gun rig game is always important to me, these small additions offered great advance options.

It's solidly constructed and fits standard cold shoe mount items but...I don't see where the 2 small screws would be used in mounting it. The standard 1/4 mounting in the center works fine. But unless there is a type of rig or camera that it is supposed to mount to that uses the 2 small screw holes, then they are seemingly useless. I would be nice to have at least one additional screw to attach it by. In case you are wondering the 2 small screw holes don't align with anything on my BMPCC6K rig (also by smallrig). So yeah, unless I missed something, it's just a meh.

It screws in and stays in place but when mounting an item, that item is very loose so you have to really crank and create a tight fit, or your mic or whatever you are attaching will slip right off. I'm using it on a Sony camera and the cold shoe mount on the camera is snug, so even when not fully tightened you have a good fit. With this product, you have to really over-tighten to keep it in place.

If the shoe fits . . . I love SmallRig in a very unhealthy way having cages and other accessories for all my cameras. Sometimes you just need another microphone or light and using one of these gets you there. I bought one recently to screw into a media cart I built. It serves as a place to stow my wireless mic pack. 10 out of 10 awesomeness!
Works as expected, but the small holes are not tapped. It would be great as you could then use this for arri style locking mounts. It's also a nice touch to have a hard stop on the cold shoe so you don't need to center your equipment each time. Just go directly to the hard stop and tighten.
It's made by SmallRig ... the standard of excellence in all things Cinematography/Photography. It's a simple tool that is a practical solution to many on-set situations. Love it!
I like this little cold shoe for several reasons. First, it only works in one direction (clearly indicated by arrows) - there is a stop at the opposite end. This means that my stuff is more secure. I can be assured that nothing will slip off in one direction anyway. I have used this mounted vertically and my monitor slips into it and will sit securely even as I tighten it down. The second reason I like it is that the corners of all the edges are slightly rounded. I don't know if that adds to the functionality, but it looks great compared to other cold shoes. And third, it is really inexpensive. I have several of these now and prefer them to anything else.

Using the cold shoe and a number of other Small Rig attachments, I've been able to turn my modest Sony RX100 into a full-blown remote 4K production rig. Plus, everything is totally changeable and adaptable for different situations. Think of it as Legos for your photo setup.Well built, solid, at a fair price. Small Rig is three-for-three with me.
bought it for my Godox V1 flash. flash got stuck on the cold shoe while trying to attach flash because flash pins are too long ? loading edge of cold shoe needs to be beveled to push pins down for loading. and couldn't get flash off the cold shoe because locking pin got stuck in the smaller screw hole on the cold shoe. had to buy a jeweler's screwdriver to get my flash off the cold shoe
