These are great batteries to have in addition to OEM Sony batteries. They serve different purposes. The Sonys are for maximizing capacity and compatibility. These SmallRigs, with the built in USBC, are for convenience. You can charge these from a computer, battery pack, ancient wall wart, vehicle USBA or C ports, etcThese batteries just give you options the OEMs don't have. View them with that eye, keep 2 in your kit, and you won't regret it.I have 3 of these and have never had DOAs or compatibility issues with a7IV or A7RV.

Good battery
I get constant warnings on my Sony A6700!The operation and safety of this batterycannot be guaranteed.Continue using?OKCancel
Been using the for a couple of weeks and it handles good. Have not yet used to an extreme, and will not unless I need to. It is a good back up when you need extra juice. It does get a bit warm when charging. Other than that, I would recommend as last resort compared to original.
I stay normally away from third party batteries and only used the original ones from Sony.I received a review from a photographer and tried them. While I did not have them for as long as the original ones from Sony, they seem to last at least as long (it's not a scientific test). But so far absolutely fine.
It always works for like 5 minutes to display the battery percentage, then stops working and after a warning message, the battery percentage became just 3 bars. They say Comparable tothe Original in All Ways Built-in decoding chip for full compatibility with the camera (no pop-up warning during using),and supports power display but now I found they also say *Not compatible with Sony FX3(Ver.4.00) / FX30(Ver.3.00) / α7CR / α7C II / α7 IV(Ver.2.00 and above)/ ZV-E1(Ver.1.02)Anyway, I am using ZV-E1 and I regret getting this battery. Buyers should be aware.
Works perfectly with Sony A7iv firmware 3.0 no error messages, battery percentage shows, really useful charging port on battery- better than the sony branded battery
Using two of these on SOny A1 and have to say the power drains really fast. I have 1-2 year old original Sony FZ-100 batteries and they still power the camera well even with RAW+JPG mode. You get what you pay for.... in this case you get half the output at half the price.... I really like the USB port for charging, though.
i just got these yesterday, so really this review is a bit premature. However, I felt it necessary to at least pass along that the (2) batteries i just got do not fit perfectly in the battery compartment of my Sony a1. No idea if that's true with other bodies. in my camera, it slides in properly, but then the small internal catch doesn't hold it in, and the door is a little difficult to close. and then its even more difficult to lock the door closed once you get the door closed. some of that awkwardness is a sony problem, where the latch sliding mechanism isn't spring loaded to lock itself when pushed closed. So the 'fit' is why i took off a star. otherwise, it totally seems to meet my needs, but its capacity is still to be monitored and assessed.
