SmallRig L Bracket For Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7 Camera 2947

This is THE ONLY L Bracket that fits a Nikon Z6ii camera that is barely thick enough to allow you to attach the FTZ adaptor WITHOUT having to remove the camera from the tripod. This is important at night. I have tried 3 other brands including Sunwayfoto which I love too, but they do not give enough height to the camera while on a ballhead to allow you to attach the FTZ adaptor. On those other l brackets, you have to remove the camera to attach the FTZ adaptor when switching from Z lenses to other lenses. The only complaint would be that this L bracket lacks the 2 small pins that prevent the camera from slipping off the Clamp accidentally. The other L brackets have the clamp protection pins. This is a great bracket. It fits the Z7 like a glove and feels great in the hand. It adds a little length to the grip without being overly heavy or clunky/chunky.I have one complaint, and this may very well be user error but I mention it in case it helps others. I have a Manfrotto Element small travel tripod. The head on it is great and, as far as I know, is standard Arca. The Smallrig bracket fits flawlessly in portrait, but in landscape the only place it will fit is on the far left edge. If you try to center it, there's a small screw in the Manfrotto head that doesn't quite align with any of the holes on the bottom of the Smallrig.I got around this by screwing the tripod plate included with my tripod directly to the bracket, but it's kind of annoying, and I ... MoreThis is a great bracket. My other Nikons have had RRS, Kirk, 3-Legged brand 2-piece and single piece.I'd like to point out an issue that won't be obvious until you have had it attached to the camera for years - Those brackets with a flange that "cradles" the base to keep it from twisting causes a metal on metal abrasion. Why don't they add a rubber or elastomer gasket? Because after a year, if you remove the L-bracket, it looks like I've dragged the base of the Nikon across a sidewalk! Not good if you ever upgrade and plan to sell the camera. Battery compartment is protected and fully accessible. Cable and jack doors are accessible. Strap connectors accessible. Useful 1/4 threaded holes - 2 on side; 3 on bottom. The FTZ fits just fine in front of the bracket.And it just fits like it was made for the Z6. Last comment about protecting the battery compartment - I've had animals knock a camera to the ground. If you have ever dropped a Nikon - always! - the battery breaks out of the battery door. Understandably...because there are only two tiny plastic pegs and a plastic latch holding that battery door. The way this L-bracket protects yet allows access to the battery door is a great point.
