At the battery door, you will find a hinge arm to be turned outward for full access for the battery to be replaced. Additionally, the bottom of the L-plate is designed to fit the camera curve to enhance grip. The side plate of the camera can be adjusted within a range of 23mm while still allowing access to all cables, buttons and ports. I already used for a long time a smallrig L-bracket on my Z6 and was fully satisfied with the product (perfect fit to the body, secure to use and great quality overall). This one for the Z8 is the same fit and build quality. My only concern is about the choice of slot screw types that are in recessed holes. This requires a mandatory supplied screwdriver (or a casual one) the recessed hole do not allow to use a coin as an emergency replacement. In case it get lost, it would be impossible to replace where on the Z6 it is a regular allen key that could have been easily replaced if it gone lost (which doesn't happen). But apart from that detail, I am fully satisfied with the product !

I already used for a long time a smallrig L-bracket on my Z6 and was fully satisfied with the product (perfect fit to the body, secure to use and great quality overall). This one for the Z8 is the same fit and build quality. My only concern is about the choice of slot screw types that are in recessed holes. This requires a mandatory supplied screwdriver (or a casual one) the recessed hole do not allow to use a coin as an emergency replacement. In case it get lost, it would be impossible to replace where on the Z6 it is a regular allen key that could have been easily replaced if it gone lost (which doesn't happen). Very good fit and finish. SmallRig not only delivers good value for the money, but also a great product at any price. I like the brackets better than the more expensive options I used to use. This one also delivers, fit is perfect on the Z8 and works as expected.
The quality of finish is good, stiffness is good and it fits the camera well.
It is made to a very high standard and fits accurately on the camera. It has a deep section which gives it a lot of strength and rigidity
Awesome piece of metal. It does have a trap slot, a 1/4" threaded hole right in the center of body which perfectly aligned with raiser plate to attach to my RS2 gimbal.
