In other words it is uncomplicated and intuitive, easy to use whilst providing a comprehensive function menu. The Smeg is also quiet. Appliances Online provided uncomplicated and effective service which I what I have come to value.

I bought this appliance thinking that paying a bit extra for a 'name' european brand would provide me with a quality, attractive appliance. Unfortunately, this is not quite the case. 1 - The grill feature is next to useless. It can barely raise the temperature of any item placed under it using the supplied stand. 2 - The microwave power itself seems insipid - takes around twenty minutes to adequately cook 2 inch cubed potatoes. 3 -Its construction seems extremely flimsy. The outer shell is made from very thin sheet metal. So, pretty unimpressed....particularly given its cost.

The Smeg Inverter Microwave is faulty and did not work. I tried heating a cup of milk a fairly simple function and it did not work. I carefully checked instructions a number of times but I could not get it to work and then contacted the supplier and requested a refund. They advised that they would send a technician to check the product and would refund if it is faulty. I have been waiting weeks for this and it still has not happened. I think it is time they refunded me and I plan never to buy a Smeg again.

Everything works as it should but the instructions for use are woeful. If you don’t fix the clock straight away and the oven is built in it is impossible to reset. There is no recipe book for guidance.
Disappointed with this product, I want my cheap one back! I bought it as I needed a new Microwave, but disappointed as it does not heat consistently and then other times heats Just outside .. my oven and induction cooktop are awesome. Just wish I could send this back!. I would love a smeg fridge and dishwasher as I embark on a new kitchen
Bought this based on three things. The dimensions of the fascia, the fact that it's an inverter and the grill function. As it turns out the grill is very feeble and seems to take forever just to do cheese on toast. The size info listed in the manual online is misleading. The diagram for the front dimensions does not indicate that the feet are included in the figures listed but in reality the feet are included in the listed dimensions so the unit doesn't fit the cavity as neatly as I had hoped. The inverter side of things doesn't seem to work like a proper inverter microwave. I have a cheap Panasonic inverter microwave at my office and when it's set to low power it can gently/constantly simmer liquid without powering on and off. This Smeg unit, when set to 30% power boils the water violently then the power cuts out for a while then cuts back in and brings the water back to a boil again, just like the old non inverter microwave this one replaced. It does look nice and seems well built though, it's also fairly quiet, it's just shame is not very good.
I paid a bit more for this because the kitchen in my apartment has a stainless steel wall-oven & a white microwave would’ve looked naf. I wanted something that looked good because the lounge/dining/kitchen is all one room, and looking at a bad microwave every day would’ve been a downer. But its the features and simplicity I love. The grill feature is awesome - I use it all the time, and after a quick read of the manual I find I can easily access the features: grill, cook etc.
After having a Smeg microwave for many years, I was expecting the same build quality. To my disappointment the Smeg SAM34XI 34L Inverter Microwave is cheap looking and does not have that traditional Smeg appliance appeal. That aside the Smeg SAM34XI 34L Inverter Microwave does work well and has some good features. I would recommend checking it out before you purchase.
Recently purchased a SMEG Microwave. Excellent quality and works well. Has a nice strong feel - no plastic feel!! Has grill function as well as microwave - so works well in crisping up pastry. Also has one button start function that can be used to set 30sec intervals.
The microwave works well, i cannot fault it, its disappointing that the design has not kept up with the new induction cook tops & ovens. We purchased Smeg, as we wanted to keep all our appliances the same, we had an old Smeg microwave, and replaced it with the same brand, unfortunately, it also looks nearly the same, cannot understand why it hasn't been updated to match current trends. Yes, some of the buttons are slightly different, they still have the same nob as the very, very old model.
