Smeg 481 litres Retro Style Bottom Mount Refrigerator - Pastel Green

I have had this for about a year now and I love it! It works perfectly, the delivery was seamless, and it looks so cute in my retro kitchen. Having the freezer below the fridge is also very convenient because we definitely use the fridge more. I can't recommend this enough!

We absolutely love this refrigerator, which we have had now for over a year in our downstairs half-kitchen. It works great, and everyone who sees it remarks how beautiful it is. I took off one star because it doesn't have a way to set the door to NOT open past a 90 degree angle. So, if the refrigerator is placed in a corner with the door is opening towards a solid wall, it's possible for the door to hit the wall unless you come up with an innovative solution and make sure you have several inches of clearance space between the refrigerator and the wall.

It's a beautiful fridge overall, gorgeous with my new retro stove. It's compact, so probably wouldn't work for a larger family. It works well for just my teenage daughter and self. My one issue is with the freezer drawers. They are small capacity and opaque, not clear like the fridge drawers, so I can't see what's inside each one. They also slide outward and slope/hang down and will pull all the way out if you don't hold them up. Therefore, it's a bit tricky trying to pull something out while holding the drawer up.

I got mine in orange. We love the color. The freezer has drawers and are just half its width so in reality the freezer is small with limited capacity. The top freezer drawer could not be opened that much that you can only put small items .

Looks great and get lots of compliments..You can actually get a lot more in it than I thought we would. We have had it about a year and two noises that shouldn’t be there, a very squeaky door and it makes a pretty large gurgling noise from time to time…it’s a little difficult to get normal ice trays in it but even with these few things we really like it. It’s working great for us. We were a little nervous going to a smaller refrigerator from the normal larger side by side but are pleasantly surprised I would recommend it.

Beautiful to look at, but not meant for use

The fridge is beautiful, but quality of materials is extremely poor. We are on our second fridge. First one had an issue with the cooling system and was replaced under warranty. The warranty replacement showed up with several things broken on it. The majority of this fridge is made of very low grade plastic. It's very susceptible to cracking. We are super careful with the fridge, but after only 6 months of use things are already starting to break.

Blue fridge

This fridge looks good but is of very poor quality and is difficult to open. The vegetable drawer falls out and spills when fully extended. Plastic exterior and cheap plastic fittings inside do not watts T the high price compared to other fridges.

Great Retro Look

Great looking fridge for my Art Deco kitchen. Internal detailing impressive. Freezer door catch does seem a little flimsy. Only downside, which I knew about prior to purchasing, is manual defrosting - authentic to 1950s I suppose!

Noisiest fridge ever!

Purchasing this wanky unit was a HUGE mistake! It is incredibly noisy and keeps me awake at night vibrating! I have to get up and turn it off at the power point to make it stop! Getting the local service agents for Smeg to come fix it is another issue as their communication is terrible! I wish I could send it back!

What--no instructions??

On the outside my Smeg is pink wonderfulness. The inside was a mess of little plastic and metal parts with absolutely no instructions for assembly of the shelves, and a drawing that did not match what anything looked like. We searched the internet and left two messages at a phone number on Smeg's website but no one ever called us back. It took me two hours of intuitive guesswork and squinting at a fuzzy photo online of the inside of our model to figure out how to assemble the shelves, compartments and drawers. NOT fun.
