the listing says: "This product with stainless steel powder-coated body. It includes a removable stainless steel limescale filter, and auto shut‐off when water is not detected." This is false advertizing. The whole outside is plastic. I don't see any stainless steel powder-coated body whatsoever. The inside might be stainless, although there is plastic, plastic everywhere! I don't know if this is the real thing or a knockoff. For the high price, I had relied on the summary. When you look down at the specs, its says plastic. ugh.

50'style look but it's all modern tech

I love the look of this kettle. It's like Italian made art on my counter, very eye-catching. Makes my counter look clean & sleek. Easy to fill, button top automatically raises lid, all the features you need, reliable boil temperature every time, identical blue lit on-switch like the toaster. Sturdy handle for pouring, no drips, seems better insulated, not steaming up my kitchen and I like I don't have to struggle awkwardly when it's full putting it back on the base in a specific direction, it swivels, so easy. Quality and design top-notch. Canadian Tire only sells cream colour, but it's very stylish. Get it on sale and activate & stack those Triangle offers to save more!

A staple item in the kitchen!

The tea kettle is one of the most used items in my kitchen, and in the kitchens of other family members. The soft yet bold punch of color is perfect for brightening any kitchen. They are safe, easy to use and clean, heat very efficiently, and do not emanate little to no noise at all. If you are an avid tea drinker, this is the product for you. You can control the temperature settings and brew the perfect cup of tea in minutes. I have used it multiple times a week for well over a year (maybe even 2 years), and it has yet to decline in function. Definitely worth the investment!

Broke within two years

I really like the design, however, both kettles that I purchased stopped working within 1.5 to 2 years. My first one didn’t not have a warranty. I purchased the 3 years Best Buy protection for the second kettle, which also broke after 1.5 year of regular water boiling.I was able to get a replacement but my left over 1.5 years warranty does not carry over. That means I have to buy a brand new 3 years protection again for the replacement kettle. Not pleased.

Extra cost doesn't equal extra quality

I have owned this kettle for 2 years and eventually the little piece that connects the base to the kettle got damaged and the kettle wouldn't work. I took it apart and I had to replace the entire part inside the kettle body that operates the thermostat and the switch and all the working parts. Upon searching for the part online I realized this is just a standard part and the exact same part is in dozens of different brands of kettles that will cost you a fraction of this kettle. The moral of my story here is, the hefty price of this kettle is based on the brand and the look not the quailty. The actual working components of it are not superior to other kettles. Good kettle....stylish and works well!

This kettle is very pricey but it is very efficient in the job it does. Looks really good and the colour range would complement most homes. There are a couple of downsides. The kettle is quite heavy when filled so this is something to be wary about.....nearly 3kg with water up the full mark on our kitchen scales (approx only). The lid of the kettle needs a downward pressure for a couple of moments before it will open but I do like the soft and slow opening process. All in all happy with this product by Smeg.

Love it!

Ordered in red. Received cream colour, which is actually the one I wanted but was marked as unavailable. As for the kettle itself, it's beautiful. Fast, quiet operation. Comes to a boil in half of the time of my old Black & Decker. Love the touch-to-open lid and soft close features. Even the lever is quiet when it releases. Like the internal filter built in to spout. Not sure if the cord is silicone or rubber, but it's softer and more flexible than the plastic-covered cords on cheaper brands. Bonus - it comes with a set of replacement silicone feet. I'm thrilled with it.

Meets my needs

This kettle "resides" in my bedroom. I don't sleep well and usually wake up around midnight when I make a small pot of tea. Although tea is supposed to keep one awake, I find it soothing and nod off again soon afterwards. I was a bit surprised to find the kettle is actually quite big though, although the capacity isn't, and would have preferred something smaller. A plus is that the cord is longer than others I researched.

Smeg Mimi kettle

The mini kettle is admired by all. I had the bigger Smeg kettle but changed colour for all appliances the mini is really light even when it’s full and has the capacity to make 4 mugs of coffee so being a mini it actually holds a lot of water. The larger kettle was great this mini is just more practical for making tea and coffee for the family and guest. Most visitors have run out and got one and I’ve only had it a few weeks. I think it’s because Smeg is known for its quality but it is like a functional piece of art.

Very disappointing. Terrible taste.

We bought our kettle on Monday February 6th. We followed all the instructions re boiling water several times before use. Our tea and coffee tasted foul. February 8th went through the process again and re-boiled several times. Still foul taste and smell from kettle. We returned the kettle from place of purchase on February 10th and changed to another brand. Tea and coffee taste fine. Very disappointed.
