Loving this cooktop. Looks beautiful and is definitely functional. Quick ignition and steady gas flow, cooking times have improved as well as the cooking result. So glad to have upgraded.

Bought this 2 years ago and have not been happy since. The trivets are continuous design across burners which makes less flames to open air and burns burners particularlyThe rapid burner. I do not use it at all as it has burned my burner and sstop a lot beacause the pots are too close to flame. All other good cook tops have a free area over burners and not solid metal which damages burners.
Easy to Install into existing cutout and is very good quality finish. It had good gas output and hasn’t missed a beat. Much better quality that some of the equivalents in the same and slightly cheaper price range.
Our old cooktop was definitively past its sell by date so we decided to upgrade and The Good Guys were my first and only choice to shop for a new one. Ian the sales guy was very helpful in showing us all the ones that were compatible with our granite surface and we chose the Smeg 60cm Classic as my wife and I really love their style. Ian recommended a great plumber to install it. The Black Ant Project were really quick and efficient in fitting the cooktop. A little granite had to be sliced away but this proved no problem and was done with little noise and no mess at the end.. Great job all round.
Just had the cooktop installed - Cooks are impressed. Looks much smarter than the pictures.
My last Smeg cooktop lasted 20 years and still worked fine. I love the extra trivets allowing places to leave pots. Also the trivet centred is great for a small percolator. I read a negative review saying it caused the gas to not be directed properly. Seems fine to me. Also the safety feature of no gas coming out until it ignites is great! I cant smell and forgot it on once, or twice before!
Good positioning of burners. Quality product. Replaced a 15 yr old Smeg cooktop with this Smeg cooktop.
Lovely looking cooktop. Need some care with the stainless steel surface, so suggest a chat with Smeg Australia before initial use (warm soapy water for spills, along with dedicated stainless steel cleaner-). I've only been using it for a few weeks, but so far quite happy with it.
