the listing says: "This product with stainless steel powder-coated body. It includes a removable stainless steel limescale filter, and auto shut‐off when water is not detected." This is false advertizing. The whole outside is plastic. I don't see any stainless steel powder-coated body whatsoever. The inside might be stainless, although there is plastic, plastic everywhere! I don't know if this is the real thing or a knockoff. For the high price, I had relied on the summary. When you look down at the specs, its says plastic. ugh.

The tea kettle is one of the most used items in my kitchen, and in the kitchens of other family members. The soft yet bold punch of color is perfect for brightening any kitchen. They are safe, easy to use and clean, heat very efficiently, and do not emanate little to no noise at all. If you are an avid tea drinker, this is the product for you. You can control the temperature settings and brew the perfect cup of tea in minutes. I have used it multiple times a week for well over a year (maybe even 2 years), and it has yet to decline in function. Definitely worth the investment!

I really like the design, however, both kettles that I purchased stopped working within 1.5 to 2 years. My first one didn’t not have a warranty. I purchased the 3 years Best Buy protection for the second kettle, which also broke after 1.5 year of regular water boiling.I was able to get a replacement but my left over 1.5 years warranty does not carry over. That means I have to buy a brand new 3 years protection again for the replacement kettle. Not pleased.

Buy something else. Yes, I know. They are pretty and look great great in a kitchen. But be prepared to buy another kettle in 2-3 years because it won’t last. Horrible quality. Just horrible. Buying Smeg’s small appliances was a horrible mistake. I wonder which one is going to stop working next. I have had this not quite 4 years and only use it on the weekends. Now I have a very pretty, very expensive, very useless kettle on my kitchen counter. William Sonoma, you need to stop selling Smeg until they do better.
My family loves hot tea. We saw the SMEG Kettle at William Sonoma. We like the idea of using a electric kettle and liked the SMEG style, The trouble started two months after purchase. The lid button became stuck. . Had to use a knife to open it. Then the handle cracking . I read the reviews. I thought it wouldn’t happen to me. I was wrong. I think SMEG should do the right thing and have a product recall. William Sonoma is one of the biggest product sellers. Stop selling there products. They need to look in to the way the product is manufactured. The Kettle worked great for awhile. The style is what sold us. My advice Don’t buy it.
It looks so pretty in my white kitchen but the quality is horrible!I bought this expensive kettle about 3 years again and it stopped working.I called their customer service number. They were so unhelpful and unprofessional. They told me to email the customer service department which I did! It took them a long time to get back to me.I sent them picture of the serial number and explained how disappointed I was in their product. They didn’t even bother to get back to be!!I will never recommend this kettle to anyone!!
This is an esthetically pleasing kettle. It doesn’t last however. Mine stopped working after 3 years of use. Attempts to secure repairs were futile. No spare parts are made for the kettle portion (base has spare parts) and it only has a 12 month warranty!Terrible for such an expensive product!
We've been together for 3 years. I thought everything was fine, but one morning he was cold to me. Now, he only gets turned on in a certain position (which I am not comfortable with.) I thought he was going to be different from other kettles I've been with. He looked so dreamy with his big bold lines. Turns out I should have stuck with my old Breville.Come on, Williams-Sonoma! This item gets an average rating of 2.5 stars and you are STILL flogging it to customers? SMEG are not interested because it's over a year old (thanks, SMEG). I spent over $170 on this thing and it's useless. Do the right things: refund the money and pull this from your website. "Williams-Sonoma: America's Leader in High-Quality Cookware & Tools"? I think not.
Am a regular tea drinker and was looking for a workhorse appliance that was attractive since it would be used daily and a constant on my counter.I have had mine for a little over two years, and now it’s stopped working. My initial disappointment was with the outer color coating which flakes/chips/peels — and note that I have always lightly cleaned the surface with dish soap and a non abrasive sponge. What is really disappointing is the heating element is not well made. There is a really thin pin in the kettle base that is triggering the base heating element — it seems to have been bent and now the kettle doesn’t sit squarely on the base. I tried to gently straighten the pin and while it will now sit on the base, it will no longer heat. The kettle itself, even ... I tried to gently straighten the pin and while it will now sit on the base, it will no longer heat. The kettle itself, even empty is pretty heavy and I think it’s too much pressure on the pin when taking the kettle on and off the base.Super disappointing especially because it’s not an inexpensive appliance and I thought it would last a lot longer than it has. William Sonoma‘s private label electric kettle, on the other hand, is amazing and well designed And a fraction of the price. Have that is another location, for nearly as long with no issues. It’s cute on the counter but does not perform.
It looks pretty in my white marble kitchen — but that’s it. I used it maybe two times a month, and one day the base just stopped turning on. It isn’t the outlet. It is the base. This was a stupidly expensive product the I bought for the aesthetics. So disappointed. …. Also, the water-level opening to check how much water is inside is NOT easy to read. It is hidden under the handle & hardly visible. Kettle itself is heavy, with more water inside it is heavier and because of spillage can’t be tilted to try to read level. Almost never able to see accurate water line.
