Great looking but didn’t work! When you filled coffee in filter and put the filter container on machine, it was impossible to click the arm into position! Very stiff, must be some fault. Sending back for full refund.

I bought this machine mostly for the design, which was everything I expected. But there were some other unexpected positive elements. Instead of being clunky and having a cheap plastic sound, the water reservoir and the spill container at the bottom, make a nice heavy clicking sound when you put them in place. So basically it was better quality and design. Also there is a quirky face with a a tongue in the spill box to remind you tomempty the spilled fluids once it is full. There is also a beautifully designed second level for bigger mugs, which usually tend to be an afterthought, but in this case really is part of thepackage, meaning you can even leave it that way permanently if you only make americano coffees.

I contacted Smeg as the head of my coffee machine started flying off at very high speed. It missed my grandson’s head by an inch, instead crashing into my fridge damaging it in several places. The next time it gouged a coffee head shaped hole in my flooring. Even though the head fits exactly into the gouge & quite frankly nothing else could make that gouge, Smeg said it must’ve been something else! Absolutely laughable. I thought they would investigate over customer safety concerns, by no!! Not this disreputable mob! Instead, they tried to charge me 50% of the original purchase price to rectify, & had the audacity to call it a goodwill gesture! Nothing but grubby little extortionists!! Save yourself a headache & money & do not buy from them.

Very easy to use machine, the crema alone adds so much to the taste. As a convert from capsule coffee machines it is a bit of a faff going back to loose ground coffee and the additional mess, but for the quality of coffee it's is worth it, also about 50% cheaper compared to the capsules. The steamer has so many uses, love the way it froths the milk and also how it can be used to heat hot chocolate and chai drinks. It also looks great on the worktop taking up very little space.
Great little machine. Weighted just right so it doesn't move when using. Excellent coffee at the right temp. Frothing wand does a great job. Easy to clean. Looks beautiful in the kitchen
I’ve put off buying an espresso machine for years because when I’ve tried my friends’, the coffee’s been pretty average. But this Smeg machine is a game-changer! The coffee is superb, better than most cafes, and I can taste so many coffee notes that I couldn’t using the same coffee in a plunger - toffee, caramel, chocolate. It produces so much crema, I don’t even bother with the milk frother most times! I will say the portafilter is a bit stiff and hard to get into place at first - but after watching a Smeg video that shows not to fill it too high and putting a wee smear of vegetable oil around the rim (just once) it’s now easy to work. The milk frother is easy to use and produces amazing foam, fantastic when making hot chocolate. You can also fit a big mug by removing the base - well recommend watching the Smeg video for all the tips. I highly recommend this machine - you will make coffee better than most cafes without the huge outlay of a professional machine, and it’s quick and easy to use.
The appliance is beautiful and the coffee is quite good, but I am not satisfied with the quality for the price paid. After a few days of use we already had some issues, coffee is not coming through properly even using the right coffee.
I love this easy to use espresso maker. I've had a perfect capucino every time and it looks beautiful in the kitchen as well.
There are far better machines for less money , but if ypu really must have the Smeg style..Just consider the steam wand is far too short to be useful. We eventually sold this machine for a sage bambino plus.
compared to the previous model this one is of poor quality. the letter G from SMEG came off on opening. making the second drink immediately after is not possible. I did try giving it more than a week and swapping it, but sadly its got to go back
